Spartacus's Ball gag with buckle is intended for users who wish to be gagged during sexual activity, solo or with a partner. It isn't the easiest to sterilize and share, but it is fully adjustable so it will fit larger or smaller mouths with ease. The ball is a bit bigger than what should be recommended for a beginner, but a BDSM practicer would find this perfect for those moments that they want to feel fully gagged and unable to speak.

I find the overall product is made fairly well for being inexpensive. The strap is made of leather, 22" long, and equipped with metal rings for adjustment and placement. The rubber ball located in the center. The leather is of high quality and will have a leathery scent to it if you give it a smell test. Rubber toys or products usually have a small scent to them as well, and this gag isn't exempt. If you don't like the smell of rubber or leather, I wouldn't recommend this, as it didn't go away with time on my gag. The leather is attached to the sides of the ball via slits cut into it. The ball is completely made of rubber, which is porous and needs attention during cleaning and to be cleansed right after use. This particular gag does not make the ball removable, so therefore when you're cleaning it it's harder to sterilize since you can't just pop the ball off and clean it. The overall size is travel friendly, as you can fold over the straps and the most amount of bulk is the ball itself. It isn't heavy, however, weighing in at just 0.2b. It's not a discreet product and most people will know what it is looking at it if you store it out in the open.



There are 11 holes for adjustment and the gag will fit an array of users due to this. The ball, however, is slightly larger than your average and measures at a 6.25" circumference. If you're looking for a smaller gag, you can try the Spartacus Silicone removable small ball gag. It works a lot better for those who don't prefer an aching jaw afterwards. The larger gag is one for those with larger mouths or like the feeling of being fully gagged. The rubber is firm, but it has a little give so that you can still bite down on it during use. I found it comfortable enough during use to recommend it to an advanced user. I liked that overall, it was extremely adjustable (I have a smaller head,) and that the strap didn't slide around or off of me. However, the ball moves around on the strap from time to time and can be uncomfortable in your mouth because of it. I've experienced everything from pinching, slight chafing after prolonged use, or discomfort because of the gag, but it was all part of my play, so I didn't find it to be a downer of the product.

It's pretty easy to put on and remove, but it's all up to the user how it fits and works for them. Sounds you make will be completely muffled during use and it makes mouth breathing nearly impossible. You'll feel gagging sensations during play, as the ball is very large and will fill up even a larger mouth. If this is a sensation you don't like, I would recommend getting something smaller and easier to use before upgrading to a gag that is this large. It's definitely for those users who don't mind being uncomfortable and may even like it. I know during my use that I had to take it off after about 20 minutes and move my jaw around a bit, as I have a smaller mouth and this was a lot for me. I was able to put it back on afterwards for a bit longer. The discomfort was fine, as it was part of the play I was participating in. I find that it's pretty durable and a comfortable gag overall.

It's important for a beginner or advanced user to know the ins and outs of rubber before use. It doesn't rate very high on the safety scale, however leather and metal give the overall product a higher rating. Rubber is a porous material and should be cleaned directly after use because it can harbor whatever substances have been on it in the pores of the toy. You can't boil it, so antibacterial soap and warm water is the best method of cleaning. The straps are made of leather so it's best to avoid getting water on them. Leather has a tendency to crack if exposed to a lot of water. I've used toy cleaner for a quick wipe down after, and I've gotten into the habit of using only water based lubes with my toys because it's easy to forget what's silicone and what isn't. You can use a silicone based lube with this if you choose to.

I don't find it to be all that hard to clean, especially if you're using it solo and not sharing the product. If you share, make sure to sanitize the product the best that you can after usage and you shouldn't have any problems.

The product comes in a plastic casing that is not discreet, but great for storage. On the front is the picture of a model with the ball gag in, so it's clear what the use is for. The packaging is blue and purple, and states that the gag is 2"/5cm. Inside, your gag is wrapped in plastic and ready for your use.

I liked this for my first gag, but I'm purchasing something smaller. I found that though it was it was only a mild discomfort, it was still a bit too much for someone just diving into using ball gags and mouth pieces.
