Plushy gear wrist cuffs - velcro handcuffs discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by indiechick

I have used cuffs in the past but it has been long enough and I am with a different partner now, so I wanted to find a gentle transition from cuffs with safety releases into something a little naughtier. Theses cuffs meet that need gloriously.

They are so comfortable. The soft squish of the fabric against the skin is not exactly what most people think of when the concept of BDSM comes to mind, however, 1) If you are new or 2) If you plan on wearing them for extended periods of time, you know how important the comfort is.

The fit:

I have very tiny wrists. Like I wear a child's sized watch small. So finding cuffs that comfortably fit me is a challenge. These pass the test with flying colors. While there is quite a bit of extra velcro on the ends when I wear them (I will cut this off) my wrists fit snuggly with limited movement abilities. AMAZING!

The Quality:
Very impressive. I've done some rough play in OTHER cuffs before and have found that they fall apart easily, that they do not stay velcro-ed etc. But these cuffs are wonderful. 1) I cannot get myself out of the velcro while wearing them cuffed together. 2) The D-rings and clips are very strong for the price point and will stand up to all light and medium play. 3) I've had to spot clean them and have had no issues with them after doing so.

Who they are and are not made for:
These are for beginners to advanced players who are looking for something that is going to bind you but not hurt you. These cuffs are for light to medium levels of play. please do not purchase these cuffs if you are looking for something to hang your hands from the ceiling as that is not their intended purpose, however they should be able to handle most anything shy of that. Because the cuffs are velcro rather than notches they will fit just about anyone I have about a 5" wrist and had about 1.5 inches of velcro that I didn't even use to tighten myself into the cuff and that does not take into consideration the fact that much of my wrist had two layers of the cuff. This will fit almost anyone.

I used to work with a magician and am skilled at getting out of cuffs. Tonight my boyfriend and I put these cuffs to the test. He wrapped them around my wrists extra snugly and then clipped my hands together behind my back. While I am able to bring my arms in front of my body with lithe difficulty, we found that when one cuff is clipped to the D-ring of the other cuff that I could get out in about 60 seconds, however when the clips are clipped to each other there is just enough distance between them that I cannot use my hands to get myself free ( I have very long fingers) but instead had to use my mouth and even that endeavor took several minutes, which in bedroom play he would have noticed giving him plenty of time to react and punish me.

I still love them. I still use them often. They are great for extended wear I think I put them on myself more often than my partner does. I wear them for cooking, cleaning, typing. I find I enjoy the feeling of restraints even if not engaging in sexual activity and these are soft enough to wear for extended periods of time. I have cut the velcro down to a manageable amount for me, but to each their own. These are a great pair of cuffs for beginners or advanced users and have a well deserved place on my wall.

A note on cleaning. If you spill something on them, take a damp clothe and wipe them down immediately.
