Collar with clamps by Spartacus - review by SMichelle

This product is great for anyone who has interest in BDSM. It can be used both in solo play or in couples play.

The collar is meant to be worn around your neck, and is adjustable to a certain degree. The clamps are meant to be worn on your nipples, and are extremely adjustable. The fact that the clamps are adjustable is what makes this set suitable to both beginners and advanced users.

The clamps are also detachable from the collar. This makes it so that you can wear the collar alone, or the clamps alone, or wear both at once.

Those of you who are into leashes will enjoy the ring on the front of the collar, as it gives you a place to attach a leash.

This set is made out of metal and leather. The product packaging, and the product page, do not state what kind of metal is used. That said, both materials are body safe, and due to the nature of this product, it should be perfectly safe to share this.

The leather is very soft, and comfortable against my skin. The metal chain also feels to be extremely high quality. I have had this set about 2 months, and I have not noticed any discoloration, or wear and tear, on any part of this set. I feel that this set is extremely well made, and I fully expect it to last a long time.

The design of this product is simple, yet really nice. The collar is composed of two different pieces of leather. The shorter piece of leather seems to be to protect your neck, whereas the second piece has the holes and the clasp. At the very center of the collar, there is a large ring. The chain is attached to the the large ring by a little ring. You can easily remove the chain from the collar, but it can be a bit of a pain if you're trying to do so during play. For this reason, I have attached a lanyard hook to the chain. It just makes removing and reattaching much easier.

The clamps themselves are easily adjustable. You just simply turn the screw to get them to the right tension. This is easy to do with the clamps on or off.

The one flaw in the design seems to be the clamps. The clamps are covered with little pieces of a rubber-like material. The trouble is, the rubber tips slip off sometimes. I ended up gluing the rubber pieces on I was worried about losing them. Before I glued them on, I took a picture of what the tips look like without the rubber.




The collar measures just about 19" total while laying flat. Measuring from the shortest possible setting (while the collar is laying flat), the collar measures about 14". From the largest possible setting (while laying flat), the collar measures about 18". Looking at those measurements, it seems that this collar will fit a lot of people. Keep in mind though that the collar could still easily be too big or too small for you.

Width wise, the collar is nearly 2" thick. The chain and clamps measure about 26", with the clamps being just over 1 1/2" long.

Overall, these worked wonderfully me.

The collar is comfortable for me to wear for a long time. The clamps provide the pinch that I was looking for. I loved that the clamps were adjustable so that I could set them to the proper setting for me.

I enjoyed the chain, as it enabled me to give a little tug on the chain I wanted an additional bite. I also love the fact that the chain is able to be detached from the collar as sometimes I want the look of the collar without the bite of the clamps.

This product definitely met my expectations. It was well worth the price.

There were no care instructions provided with this product, which was a little disappointing.

Due to the fact that the collar is leather, I'd recommend only wiping it down when needed, or even cleaning with a cleaner meant specifically for leather. You could easily wipe down the chain and clamps with a wipe.

As for storage -- I store mine in the top of my dresser. I like to store these so that the collar lays flat. I feel that this is probably the best method of ensuring that these stay in top shape.

Unfortunately this product didn't really come with a package; instead, the clamps and collar were just put inside of a plastic bag.

I would've liked a higher quality packaging, but these clamps are still a great value.
