Collar with clamps by Spartacus - review by SydVicious

I have been looking for a collar/clamp set for some time now, and I was really excited to be able to pick this set up. I wanted a black collar, because I don't have one yet, and I wanted to try out this broad tip style clamp instead of a tweezer style clamp. I was pleasantly surprised with the collar. It's a nice pliable leather that has a suede feel on the inside so it's don't irritate the skin. I find it very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

The collar is 19.5 inches long in total length and 1 and 5/8 inches wide. There is a second strip of leather that overlays the bottom, that piece is 1 inch wide. There are 10 rivets that hold the two straps of leather together. The D ring and buckle are of decent quality and should hold up to moderate play with no problems. The collar should fit anyone with a 12 to 17.5 inch neck.

I find the clamps are really very versatile and should please just about anyone. You can control the pressure with the thumb screws. Turning the screw to open the clamp will give less pressure on your nipple, while turning the screw back will close the clamp down on the nipple with a greater intensity. There are also removable rubber tips on each clamp. When you remove the rubber tips the clamps have spiky, serrated teeth that will really give you a bite. It's really up to you, or your master. You can easily enjoy a light clamping, or a nice firm bite all with the same set of clamps.

The chains that connect to the clamps are a nice heavy chain, that should really hold up with no problems. The O-ring that connects the chains to the D-ring is another story. When I received my collar, there were some scratches on the D-ring and I soon discovered that the O-ring is really more like a tiny key chain ring. It has sharp points at the ends to make it easier to lift the edges if you want to remove the chains from the collar. The only problem is, the ring is so tiny, that when you try to remove it from the D-ring it stretches out the O-ring AND it scratches the D-ring. Well, it scratched the D-ring even when you arn't trying to remove it. I think I might try to find some sort of little clasp to put on the O-ring, so I can take the chains/clamps off much more easily.

This collar comes in a slim, clear bag with only the product name and bar code. There are no instructions for care, but as with any leather product, wipe it down with a damp cloth when/if it needs cleaning.

One thing that I wanted to point out is the removable rubber clamp covers. I tested out this product and then put it in my toy bag with the thumb screws pushing the clamps open to the proper position for my liking. When I went to get the collar/clamps out the next time I wanted to use them I was missing 2 rubber pieces. They come off pretty easily, and because I left them 'open' a couple fell off. because I stored them in a little pouch, it was easy to find the pieces, but from now on I will make sure I turn the thumb screws and close the clamps down before I store them, to avoid accidentally losing them again.

This is a great set, especially for the price. The collar is not the make luxurious leather that I have ever come across but, it's definitely not a cheapy either. I have really enjoyed this toy, and am really pleased with the quality.
