Jaguar cuffs by ASLAN Leather - review by GONE!

The Jaguar cuffs are for the purpose of restraining a partner during bondage play, but can also be used as a fashion accessory if you're brave (Out of all the cuffs on this site, these are probably the most wearable if you want to do that.). These are specifically for restraining the wrists, which you can then tether to each other, other body parts, bedposts, or anywhere you please.

This product will work best for people with average wrist sizes. It has a pretty wide range but it's not the greatest for smaller wrists due to the bulkiness that gets in the way when adjusting the size. Ad for skill level, these cuffs are friendly for all. Beginners can use them just fine, and they'll find that they don't fall apart like cheap handcuffs might. Advanced users will enjoy them just as much, and may want to play with their ability to be locked for even more fun.

The craftmanship on these cuffs is excellent. They are very well made and I definitely think they'll hold up to the rigors of most BDSM player's needs. Two different kinds of leather were used, one thick strap of bridle leather on top and a double layer of garment leather on bottom, red on top and black underneath against the skin. When I got these cuffs, they were very stiff, especially the bridle leather, but the cuffs are starting to loosen up. Since my sizing issues were mostly due to the leather's stiffness, I'm hoping that will improve over time.
The dye, stitching, and nickel-plated hardwear all look excellent. I couldn't find a single flaw anywhere. The leather smells like awesome, quality leather and I love it.

Now, on to the sizing issues I experienced. My wrists are on the small side of average for a female-assigned-at-birth person and these cuffs would fit perfectly if I could get the buckle on at the fifth slit in the leather strap on top, but I can only get it to go to the fourth because it's so stiff and there's so much leather being flexed into place at once when I try. Over time, the leather will of course soften up so it might not be an issue forever but for now I find that they slip and slide around on my arm a bit. They want to stay a little below my wrists instead of directly on my wrists like I want. So, I advise that you spend some time breaking the leather in if you have small wrists.

Despite the issue of the cuffs sliding down on me, they are still extremely comfortable to wear. The leather feels very nice and smooth against my skin. The cuffs also look just plain great. I would probably wear one or both out somewhere that open-minded people were present, I just love them so much. The deep, vibrant red looks great with the black leather.

When you fasten them, you fold the red portion of the leather against your wrist and tug the black bridle leather strap over to the other side where the buckle is. You line up the correct slit with the buckle, and you're good, nothing complicated there. Then you can, if you desire, slip a lock (Not included.) through the hole in the specially designed hole in the buckle and you're locked in. This is pretty neat. I don't see a lot of cuffs with this feature.

Length of one of the cuffs overall, all the way to the end of the black strap: Around 11.5".
Width of a cuff: Around 2".
Size range for wrists: 6.5-8.5", but be careful if you're on the small end of that range.

I would have liked if these cuffs came with a connecting link, but it's no matter. One can be bought easily. These cuffs stand up to a lot of tugging and I have put a lot of my weight on them with them looking no worse for wear. There's so many ways these can be used, and I'm not scared of ruining them with more intense play. I'm pretty sure they can handle any situation in which cuffs are generally used with flying colors.

I'm also rather impressed by just how lovely they look as a naughty accessory. I just sit around wearing these for hours sometimes because they feel so comfortable and strangely comforting, even if they are a little bulky on my skinny wrists. The cuffs aren't the easiest to put on one-handed because of the stiffness and size, but it certainly can be done and I do because I love them.

Time to learn about leather care! These cuffs came with a tag explaining how to take care of them.
From the tag, on how to clean the leather:
"With a moist cloth and a little soap (dish soap or leather cleaner) wipe the area to be cleaned. Wipe off excess soap using a moist cloth. Pat dry immediately, be sure to get all the moisture out of fold and creases. Store your leather in a cool dry place away from direct heat and light."
It goes on to say that you should never submerge Aslan leather in water or let it hang dry instead of drying it immediately, and also that to keep the rivets and d-ring nice you can apply a coat of clear nail polish to them. To keep the leather nice, you should use leather conditioner when it looks dry.

The cuffs are a little heavy, but they aren't hard to store. I store them flat on top of other toys in my toybox.

The cuffs came in a simple plastic bag, buckled against each other with a care instructions tag. Since the bag is completely clear, I wouldn't call the packaging discreet. It's decent for storage though if you don't have a better place to keep them.

My biggest complaint about these cuffs is the sizing. All buckled items are hit or miss when it comes to fitting everyone correctly, but these bug me in that my wrists are literally between sizes when it comes to the holes. They would fit me better fastened in a hole that I can't quite reach. It's just too bulky to get to it when on my wrist. If I go with the next largest size, the cuff slides up and down my wrist and arm.

Also, heads up, there is a cloth tag riveted to the inside on both cuffs but it isn't annoying and I don't feel it during use.
