Hearts leather blindfold - headgear by PHS International - review by Airen Wolf

I am always on the look out for a great blindfold simply because you can use them to spice up a sexy occassion or you can use them to block out the light while sleeping. This blindfold was also part of the Hearts Leather line from PHS International so I HAD to buy it, I just HAD to!

The blindfold is made from really good quality leather with a suede backing for comfort and a row of inlaid red leather hearts at the brow ridge. It measures 7 inches in length and each eye patch is 2.75 inches wide at the widest point. This is not a black out blindfold as it will not block all traces of light.
The blindfold is finished in beautiful contrasting red waxed thread and the stitching is even and there are no stray threads or knots visible on the blindfold.


The blindfold is held on by an elastic string that is very firmly stitched to the blindfold between the leather and suede backing. It is powerful enough to feel sturdy and elastic enough to fit just about any sized head comfortably.
Some reviewers noted that the nose bridge could be a bit uncomfortable but I didn't have any trouble with mine, your mileage may vary! I did notice that the cut away to the nose is very steep and it causes the eyepatch to lift away from the face letting in light, at least for me. I don't mind this as it actually increases my excitement to 'almost' see what's coming...trust issues and all that!
I did try wearing this to sleep with but I am a whirling dervish in bed so it quickly got tossed in the bedside table drawer. In the car, however, it's not so bad. It looks classy and I can't imagine anyone even gave it a second thought.

I did manage to pick out one of the red leather hearts on my Hearts Leather Wrist Restraints so I know these would probably also pop out if you are determined enough to pick at them, so don't do that! Mine have gotten lots of use and none of the hearts are even raised above the surface of the blindfold. With good care and storage this blindfold will get softer and more maleable with use and it will last a long time.

This is a good quality leather product so keeping it away from water or other liquids just makes sense. Leather can mold and mildew so store it in a dry and dark place away from direct sunlight. Direct sunlight can bleach the color out of leather and cause it to crack and peel. I wouldn't recommend leather cleaner for this blidnfold as most products meant to clean leather can be quite irritating to sensitive skin. A quick wipe down with a damp cloth will do the trick. Let the blindfold dry completely before storing.

This is still one of my favorite blindfolds and I have well over a dozen blindfolds of various materials and cut. This still has that amazing leather smell, the red hearts are still intact and the elastic is still strong. The leather is softer and shinier but it's still totally amazing.
