Mouth gag discontinued

Giddy Up, Horsey

Kinklab’s Rubber Bit Gag is certainly a beautiful piece. It’s long-lasting, holds up to a lot of wear and use, and is striking. Though the rubber does smell rancid, experienced ponies and submissive will enjoy wearing this bit gag for their partner. Made to be a pony bit, it can be used by anyone interested in its different design.

Allow me to first begin with the fact that this product is just as beautiful in person as it is alluring in its pictures on Edenfantasys. I had been attracted to this particular bit for quite a while now and I was finally able to buy it for myself not too long ago. It is thirty dollars, and could use some improvements, but the Rubber Bit Gag by Kinklab is definitely worth the price.

The Rubber Bit gag has a 3/4” wide strap and two 3” diameter cheek rings, a great combination for ponies or submissives. On the strap, there are seven possible adjustments for you to choose from, ranging from head sizes 16 1/2” to about 20”. Each of the adjustment holes are very smoothly cut, without any jagged edges, and the end of the strap is cut into a curve. It closes by a locking buckle, allowing you to keep your partner locked in their proper place.

Kinklab uses medium-quality leather for this bit, but it is sturdy and holds up to rough play well. It isn’t elastic at all, and is very taut and sturdy. The outer layer is smooth, with a hide-like texture, and the inner layer (that touches the wearer’s head) has a suede finish that’s very soft and comfortable. The leather, though taut, is easily manipulated, and is easy to fit around any submissive's head of any gender. It moves easily so that there is no struggling when putting this bit on someone.

The rubber bit is 4 1/2” in wearable length and is 6” in total, allowing people with wider mouths or heads to wear it. It's very firm, cannot be bitten through, and can hardly be bent. There is a seam running along both the underside and the top; when worn, this cannot be felt at all, but this might be an annoyance to some people. The rubber extends around the cheek rings, and each hole has a metal insert so that the rings can move around and not be stuck.

I will say, though, that this bit is not for people who are easily revolted by strong scents or who cannot ignore smells—it smells absolutely rancid. I could smell it even before opening the packaging for it. It has this strong rubber/petroleum scent that does not go away no matter what. I tried washing it, scrubbing it, and cleaning it, but nothing worked. It surprisingly has no taste, but the smell is hard to ignore.

It comes in a tube-like package which was a bit hard to open for me—I had to really try to pry this thing open, with a lot of twisting and turning of the top. The tube did keep the bit nice and safe, so it came to me alright and in perfect shape—no smooshing or folding of the leather straps happened with this piece. I put the casing into the recycling, as I didn’t find it to be something worth keeping.

Aside from the extreme smell, this bit gag is indeed gorgeous. Some might think that because it's styled to be a pony bit gag that it's only for dress-up or equestrian play, but it doesn't have to be—it could be for those who are just interested in gags, like the design, or, like me, enjoy all the accessories of pony play without the pony. I am into gags, not pony-play, and this is my favorite piece yet. This gag was well-made and seems, to me, to be invincible.

Note: I am not sure what metal is used for this bit gag, in either the rings or buckle.
Experience
I tried putting this on my little girl, and it was a bad idea, to say the least. Since we had talked about gags and things to put in her mouth for a long time, I figured that she would be open to wearing it. When it actually came down it, she wasn't. The smell revolted her and she got easily scared and wanted me to take it off. I suppose that it intimidated her; should have went with a lighter gag to start her off. This one certainly isn't for beginners or people intimidated by gags.
Follow-up commentary
After having this piece over a year (wow, very long!) the smell still hasn't gone away! Very odd. But it has faded quite a good amount, and can only be smelled within an inch from the bit itself. Regardless, I still love this bit gag. It's my absolute favorite so far; I'm waiting for the perfect pony bit to come out that I can put on my little girl.

I do like this one a lot more than my silicone bit gag because it has good parts that the silicone piece lacks, like the locking buckle and good quality leather. The cheek rings are also all one piece, and large, so it's more authentic and safe.
