Ruff Doggie---you just have to love a name like that if you are into spanking, BDSM or many other kinks. The name alone immediately conjured up mental images that I cannot even begin to describe here, but I can certainly describe the "Fluffy Heart Spank-Her" paddle made by the company Ruff Doggie Style. The tag on the paddle says Ruff-Lust---and lust is what I felt when I saw it on Eden Fantasies or so I thought. Then it arrived and I learned what lust for an inanimate object really was. I stroked it, rubbed it, caressed it and smelled it. Oh, for the love of LEATHER! Being a lover of quality leather, we knew upon sight that this would quickly become a new favorite impact implement, and it has.

This 10.5 inch by 5.25 inch triple layered, heart shaped, leather paddle is made of two layers of black leather stitched together with a metal stiffening/strengthening strip inside. That piece of metal covers over 3/4 of the length of the paddle and ensures that this will not become "floppy" with extended use. The third layer is a pink faux fur that is likewise stitched and glued in place, as opposed to glued only like many paddles of lesser quality. Even the edges are smoothed and blackened giving it a nice finished look. At the handle end, a loop is provided to hang the paddle, which is the best way to store leather impact toys such as this one. The widest part of this paddle can deliver some very solid blows. Depending on the force behind it, it can induce everything from a dull thud to almost a heart-stopping wallop. Of course at that point, it does indeed leave the outline of a partial heart shape on the skin. Afterward, gently rubbing that area with the fur side is comforting.

The 6.5 ounce "perpetrator of posterior pleasure" can easily be used by beginners, yet is definitely something that an experienced spanko or kinkster would enjoy using or experiencing. Don't be fooled by the heart shape, pink fur and pink stitching, this toy is far more than mere "toy", but can be a real pain-making, skin-bruising brute when used hard, so caution is advised for the newbie to spanking. Do not ever put your paddle in water to clean it. Instead use a very slightly damp soft cloth to wipe the leather and immediately dry with another soft cloth then hang to allow it to fully dry. You may also use good quality leather cleaner on the leather parts of this paddle. If the fur needs cleaning, I used the same damp cloth to wipe it down well and hang to air dry. With care, this toy should last you many years, if not a lifetime.

Since I and my partner are into impact play, among other things, this is not nearly our first toy such as this one. But I can say that after using this several times, this is without any doubt going to become of of our most used and loved impact toys. Its duality, the stern leather followed by the smoothing fur, gave me ripples of pleasure. I highly recommend giving this one a try, whether you are new to spanking or an advanced connoisseur of the play game.

After a couple of months, we still love this paddle. Surprisingly, the fur on the handle has not actually been a problem. We use this regularly and are more than satisfied with the quality and performance.
