The Fluffy Heart Spank-Her (hereafter referred to as 'Fluffy') is a double sided paddle made by Ruff Doggie Styles. With one side covered in pastel; eat your heart out, Barbie; powder pink faux fur, and one side covered in an unforgiving leather, this paddle offers two sensations in one toy.

Fluffy is shaped like a heart, with a handle long enough to wrap your entire hand around (almost like a heart shaped balloon). In the handle is a loop off of which you can hang your toy; the loop was too small for my tiny hands to fit through comfortably, but I was able to slide my hand through up to my thumb, which gave me extra stability when I was brandishing it menacingly.

The furry side of Fluffy is soft (and yes, if you're wondering: the very first thing I did when I received Fluffy is smoosh my face up against it to see how soft it really was. The answer? Really soft.) and gentle, but there are a few problems. A few of the hairs stick out past the sides; it's not problematic during use, and may not even bother you aesthetically. If it's something that gets on your last nerve, just use a pair of scissors and trim away. This paddle is 10.5 inches long, and 5.25 inches wide, with about a quarter inch of leather on the leather side. The leather and fur are each stitched together, so they won't just fall apart.

However, what did pose a problem for me is the fur on the handle. As you use this, your hand tends to sweat, unless you, unlike me, have the driest palms in the universe. This causes you to move your grip around a lot, which makes the fur on the handle fly up in a thousand different directions, and I've never been able to get it to lay flat since. Permanent cowlick on my poor paddle, plus schvitzy hands. Maybe I need a barbie doll sized hairbrush to smooth it out?




The leather side is well-made, there is one spot where the seam may be pulling free, but even with me picking at it I haven't been able to get it to unravel, so this is obviously quality workmanship. The leather side does have that faint smell of leather, and the faux fur side smells, predictably, like high-quality faux fur. Neither scent is distinctive enough to be noticed any further than an inch away from the toy.

Do not be fooled by the cavalier, charming appearance of Fluffy: the leather side of the paddle can definitely deliver some serious sting. I was expecting a paddle that could, perhaps, mimic the feel of a nice spanking, but this can be used to deliver more of a pop than a hand can provide. It won't break skin or bruise immediately (though, if you keep hitting the same area, you can cause bruising) but it is definitely a surprisingly effective spanker. However, if you put less force behind it, it can be as gentle as a slap.

I tried really hard to inflict pain with the furry side, but found that the only pain that I could dole out with it was limited to how much thrust I could use on it; it's really better suited as a teasing side; we enjoyed using it on the hot, stinging leather side affected areas and it felt wonderful being dragged over any skin.

Because of the variety of impact intensities, this would be good for beginners and more experienced participants alike, though beginners should remember to use caution as this toy can provide more of a wallop than you are expecting, so begin gently.

There is a spine running through the handle of the toy, to about 1/3 of the way up the spanking portion. We did not have any issues with it during use, and it is only noticeable on the leather side--we could not feel it, but your mileage may vary.



Because the toy is made of leather and faux fur, you must clean it gently. You can use a damp cloth to wipe down the leather side, perhaps with leather cleaner if it gets too grimy, and a damp cloth on the faux fur side. Because this can't be sanitized, if your partner is going to be bleeding or if there are going to be other bodily fluids around, it's best to get multiple paddles and keep them partner-bonded.
