Vegan jaguar collar - collar by ASLAN Leather - review by Tart

The Aslan Leather Vegan jaguar collar is a beautifully crafted faux-leather collar. Personally, I would not mistake it for leather. It is far more flexible than leather. The O-ring on this piece is a thick metal adornment that is stylish, strong, and absolutely functional. The buckle in the back that is used to secure this collar can also be locked with a small padlock. It has an air of formality yet it is simplistically designed. This collar will be great for beginners and advanced users alike.

I adore the design. The sheen of the O-ring and the stud adornments turned me on to this collar the first time I saw it. The base is made of two thick pieces of faux-leather stitched with black thread. The O-ring is attached to the base of the collar by a thinner strap that is strung through a triangle ring and bonded by metal studs. It continues around the back of the neck to reach the buckle. It is adjustable to the neck size of the wearer and fits comfortably. This collar will be a great size for average users. A neck size of 16-18 inches is best. A person with a 19.5 or 20 inch neck will not have a good experience with this collar. The strap does not stretch at all and it will not fit.

This collar is 20 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. The O-ring is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. It is thick enough to give the collar an industrial flair yet thin enough to be easily attached to a leash or chain without difficulty. I believe this collar is very well made, and it is backed with a lifetime guarantee. If the collar is defective or breaks under normal usage, it will be replaced. I think that is a policy that I can get behind and support.

The faux-leather is soft, smooth, and flexible. There isn't any distinct smell to the material, which is nice. The lockable buckle is a wonderful feature. It definitely appeals to my Master/slave tendencies and may be quite handy to those in M/s relationships or who like to enact ownership fantasies.

It is a gorgeous collar. It slightly disappointed me because I was not sure what I was getting myself into. I had never felt vegan leather before and didn't know how it would feel, but I knew I loved the collar and it would look great on me. Unfortunately I found it a bit flimsy due to the material, and the greatest defeat of all: it didn't fit me. I should have known since I was making a pricey gamble. My neck is 20 inches and most average sized collars do not fit. Instead, I used it on my girl and she loved it. She loved the way it felt around her neck, and the sense of submission she received from wearing it for me. I think pieces like this collar really aid in the sensations of submission and domination between two people.

This collar is relatively easy to clean. It is made of a non-porous, phthalates free, latex free, food-grade material. It can be cleaned with a moist cloth and mild soap or leather cleaner. Make sure that all soap has been wiped away from the surface then pat dry immediately after washing. Keep the collar in a cool dry place away from direct heat and light.

Aslan leather suggests the collar never be submerged in water.
