The Handcuffs by Sex and Mischief (which is a subset of Sportsheets) are exactly what you think of when you think of handcuffs. They are great for those who are looking to explore bondage or for those who enjoy light restraint. These also are great as a prop as well. I initially bought these to complete a Halloween costume my wife was going to wear, but found they worked very well in the bedroom as well.

These cuffs are not huge, and can bite at the wrists if attached too tightly because they are made out of metal. Those with larger wrists might find these hard to wear, but with normal sized wrists you should be fine. There is a key to unlock the cuffs and a safety latch as well, which is great for those who are nervous about experimenting with bondage. These don't unlatch randomly, but if you press on the latch you are released immediately and with no problems.

We owned some metal handcuffs years ago that were very heavy and difficult to work with. When I ordered these cuffs I was anticipating them to be similar to the ones from the past. We were pleasantly surprised with how well these were constructed, but also with how easy they are to use.

The cuffs are made out of nickel free metal. Metal rates a 9 out of 10 on the EdenFantasys Material Safety Scale and are phthalate-free. They are a silver color and are are very easy to put on and to release. The maximum diameter of the cuffs is 2 1/2".

These would be considered safety cuffs because of the release on the cuffs. The release is at the base of each cuff, and you simply press down on the release to free yourself or your partner from the cuffs. My wife was able to release her when needed (I was gathering something and the baby began crying) with no problems at all. There are keys as well, which can release the cuffs. Two sets of keys are included with the cuffs, with two keys on each set, but if you were to lose the keys you could still use the cuffs easily with the release.

Overall I think these cuffs are extremely well-crafted, especially considering the price. There have been no problems with the cuffs catching, as others have, and you can close the cuffs easily. There are 8 notches on the cuff, making it easily adjustable depending on the wrist size. Even at the largest size they are not huge, and those with larger wrists may find these cuffs to be snug. The cuffs are not heavy, but are still sturdy and made from a quality material. There is no smell to these handcuffs at all for us.

These perform as advertised. If you are not actively trying to get out of these cuffs, the person who is being restrained is not going anywhere. We have played with these several times and there is no give to the cuffs when they are secured. I wouldn't suggest trying to cuff your partner like the cops do in the movies, one-handed, etc. When I have been closing the cuff's on my wife's wrist they locking arm wants to swing behind the cuff it seems, so you need to guide the arm into the rest of the cuff. Once you close the cuff, the notches lock in easily to help tighten the cuff.

The handcuffs hold themselves well and the release latch does not accidentally release during play. It is convenient to get to when needed, but not a hindrance during play.

Our only small complaint with these cuffs is that the chain connecting the cuffs is not very long, and the restrained's wrists will be very close together. This is consistent with true handcuffs, but if you are used to being able to move your hands somewhat even when restrained you'll find that won't be the case with these cuffs.

Since the cuffs are made from the metal they are very easy to care for. If you need to clean them, simply use an anti-bacterial cloth to wipe them off and then dry them well. When storing them I just throw them in a bag that we keep in the nightstand with some of other BDSM toys. They won't react with other toys and if you do get some liquid on them it will not cause any harm. I suggest keeping one set of keys in one secure place, even though there is a release latch on each cuff.

The packaging with Sex and Mischief toys is not discreet. There is a black and white picture of a woman wearing the cuffs on one wrist on the front of the packaging with the name of the company and the the product name. On the back of the packaging you will find a brief bit of erotica about a woman with handcuffs and another picture of the handcuffs.

I wouldn't recommend the packaging for storage, the box is simply too large for easy storage. These cuffs are very easy to store in other places so I don't think you need to retain the packaging. It is recyclable so be good to the Earth.

We really like these cuffs. I would give them 4.5 stars out of 5 if I could. My wife would have liked the chain between the cuffs to be a little longer so that deducts just a bit. But otherwise these are great cuffs if you are looking for an introduction to bondage or prefer light restraint play.
