Silicone bit gag - headgear by Spartacus - review by Serendipity

The Silicone Bit Gag by Spartacus Enterprise is an attractive gag. The silicone bit is relatively small; the part that fits into your mouth is about 3 inches long and just like the packaging says, there is generous breathing room. The strap is leather (unlined) and features eleven holes with a five inch space to choose best fit in buckling. The metal rings on either side of the bit are quite large (two inches wide) and the rings are not in one piece; they have open ends (although they are closed as tightly as possible). In my opinion, this cheapened the gag in appearance but only very slightly. It isn't something one would notice immediately.

The overall look with this bit gag in place is quite exciting as far as I am concerned. I love wearing it and love seeing it worn on others.

As already mentioned, this a great gag for ponies as it is modeled after a bridle bit. What I particularly like about this toy is that there is breathing room and this makes it a good beginner toy for people wishing to experiment with using gags in sexual or BDSM play. There are many gags on the market that are more restrictive for mouth breathing (in particular, ball gags come to my mind) and some that greatly inhibit the ability to swallow. That may be exactly what draws some to a product like that, but not being able to breathe is a trigger for me and would induce panic that could likely stop what may have been shaping up to be a hot scene. For this reason, I had yet to use a gag other than cloth in play.

The Silicone bit gag can feel tight but the wearer can also push forward on the flexible bit enough to get a good breath and/or mutter something if needed. Please note: for safety reasons, any sex or BDSM play where a participant's ability to voice concerns is impaired, an alternative method of alerting the other player(s) should be employed. As a bottom in a scene like this, I like to have something in my hand that I can drop or shake such as a set of keys. Trust and negotiation ahead of a time is a must and makes for a sexier time IMO.

When I first received this toy and opened the box, I thought there was far too much packaging for such a slim toy. The gag comes in a somewhat larger than it needs to be plastic package (please recycle!) and I would really love seeing retailers start to do away with such un-necessities.

Taking the gag out of the package, I noticed next to no smell, not even leather (sad face). But that's okay. No smell can be a good thing especially since this toy was going to be right under my nose.

A slight negative for me as a bottom: the buckle caught my long hair when the bit gag was being secured. Likely a positive for my Top: the buckle caught my long hair when the bit gag was being secured ;)

Well, that small inconvenience put aside, the effect of having that bit in my mouth was a direct and instant hit like as in, "you sunk my battleship". I can be a bratty sub and this bit in my mouth knocked me down a few pegs. As an added bonus for my Top it also pretty much kept me from mouthing off. I liked this subtlety as I usually need fairly brute force before I go to 'sub space'. My Top grabbed the side of the bit and pulled me around with it, forcing my head down towards the ground which pleased them.

With my wrists then restrained and clipped to the rack, I received a very sound flogging. As I cried out with increased intensity to the flogging, I began to drool a little. My Top enjoyed that as well. They told me how sexy I looked, strung up and helpless with the white of my teeth flashing against the black bit. I was secretly so pleased we had found a gag I could wear and make my Top happy. I wanted to wear it to sleep later that night but was told to take it off. Probably a silly idea, but sometimes your brain doesn't work so well in sub space. That's why you have an attentive Dominant watching over you.

My next plans for the Silicone Bit Gag are to wear it accompanied with chains all around my body, the Sexy spades medium shoved up my butt and hotter than hot platform heels while doing the dishes for someone special. Happy sighs.

Well, shut my mouth! Who knew the pleasure that could be derived from a bar of rubber blocking your speech? This toy, no - I cannot refer to it as a toy because honestly I take it very seriously. This gag calms me down, tells me my place and puts me in a space I long to be.
