This crop is best for impact play between two (or more) people. It has a light-to-moderate sting, and the tip is soft enough that I could see it being used to provide a light feathery sensation on its own. You would be hard-pressed to do serious damage with this, and I feel that this is a great starting point for people who haven't used a crop before and/or would like a milder option.

The handle was a bit too long for me, and you might find it more comfortable to wield if you have arms longer than the length of the crop. It does seem very well put-together. It has enough give that I am able to bend it so that the ends are parallel to each other before encountering serious resistance, but returns to its original position easily even after lots of bending back and forth. The texture of the weave on the handle feels really nice and helps maintain a good grip, though the friction of the leather ribbons does irritate my (admittedly sensitive) skin after using it for over ten minutes. The tip is soft and smooth, to the point that it dampens the impact. It does have a smell to it that reminds me of new shoes, but it's not noticeable to me unless I press the tip (more chemical-y) or the handle (more leather-y) to my face. I'll post an update noting if it wore off in a couple of months.

The crop provides a mostly stingy sensation. After a trial run, it left solidly pink marks (on light skin) that could be felt for half an hour afterwards. You would be hard pressed to do serious damage with it, but it can provide a somewhat intense sting if you try hard enough. When applying a good amount of force, it also makes a really nice cracking sound that (fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your circumstances) can easily be heard through a door. The crop is also fairly easy to aim with and is overall pretty satisfying, as long as you don't expect it to do heavy-duty work.
