My boyfriend and I have a practically nocturnal schedule for most of the week. This means we sleep during the daylight a lot. Blindfolds have become an essential. My boyfriend has an amazing ability to lose or misplace every blindfold I buy for him or us. The last one I bought, the Plushy Gear Lover's Eye Mask, was really nice. That was until my boyfriend "lost track of it". ARG! So when these came out I thought I'd teach him a little lesson by buying the bright pink version of this blindfold. If he doesn't want to look silly by wearing this bright pink one, he'll find my other black ones. And sure enough he did! He found two missing blindfolds. Lesson learned.

This Soft Blindfold is from the Sportsheets beginner collection. It's not the best blindfold by any means, but for the price, it's a real winner. it's soft, pretty comfortable, stretchy, and it blocks out most of the light. With my eyes closed, I can't tell the difference though. Because of this, I'm really happy about this small purchase.

The Soft Blindfold has simple materials and design. It is made of spandex for the band, and faux fur that feels like velvet for the actual mask part. The spandex band is 1" wide and almost 13" unstretched. The hot pink fur is thankfully not too hot pink. It's not florescent looking or anything. I still really like the color. Baby pink makes me want to puke. UGH. Anyways, the faux fur does not stretch. The velvet has a sideways grain instead of up and down. This was a good choice for design. If it were up and down, it might tickle or irritate the skin as it moved while being worn. The material is the same in the front and back. The entire mask is reversible, but it will look the same.

The mask itself is 8 1/2" wide. The eye portions are 3 1/2" tall with the nose bridge being only 1 5/8" tall. The top is almost straight across with a small dip in the top above the nose. Personally I think the eye portions are a tad too long. I would have preferred 3 inches.

The mask is secured around the head by the spandex band which cannot be adjusted. It fit my ~22" head just fine. While it doesn't actually hurt my eyes, it looks like it does. The mask really bends in to form to my face. I didn't find it uncomfortable though. It just doesn't look like high quality when it's on. My partner's head is a little over 23" and he felt the same. If you have a larger head, it will fit in the band, but it will probably cut into your eyes uncomfortably.

This product is great for travel since it folds in on itself and is pretty discreet. There is nothing about it that makes it only have a sexual purpose.

I didn't notice the mask having any smell.

This mask doesn't block out all the light. When I open my eyes, I can see light coming through on the bottom, but I can't tell with them closed. For me, this makes it a non issue. I do however get irritated by the nose bridge. The material has a somewhat sharp edge that was sometimes irritating in certain positions. Overall, it was comfortable to sleep in once I got it in the right position. I also didn't find that it slides off during sleep. It stayed put. It stays better if your hair is in a pony tail though ( if you have really long hair like I do). The band is strong and doesn't show any size of wear or possible future ripping.

Because you can peak out the bottom, this blind fold isn't the best for sexual play. Your partner can cheat! It works okay though. If you want a mask that will prevent your partner from seeing anything, this one isn't it.

To clean, I would spot clean with a warm wash cloth. The package doesn't say if this can go in the washer and dryer. My guess is that it would be fine with a washer, but a dryer might weaker the elastic. It easily folds and can be tucked away in a drawer or pillow case.

The packaging is a bit much for this item. It comes in a box that could easily be half the size that it is. It's a nice box for such a cheap product though. The front has a large picture of a couple using the mask on it. The back shows the other colors and another product that is in the beginner collection- Soft Handcuffs. There is a small hole that you can feel the fabric through. It works okay for storage, but is too large to keep, in my opinion.
