First impression: I love handcuffs and I love feathers, but these were really not for me. I got them hoping that they were a good, fun and less expensive alternative to some nice high-quality cuffs. My partner and I weren't too sure about incorporating BDSM into our bedroom, so we figured something cheaper would be a good experiment.

Overall appearance: These handcuffs are definitely cute and playful and not particularly intimidating to anyone who's new with BDSM. The feathers are adorable and a lot less aggressive than many other styles of cuffs. They would be fun with some lingerie and in a light and romantic context.

Functionality: Putting them on certainly works okay, but if you pull on them too much, they're super-breakable. Don't even think about wearing these and accidentally trying to pull one of your arms in another direction. The fact that these cuffs are not very durable at all was the big reason why I didn't completely love them. They're very easy to break accidentally and the feathers get everywhere. One time I used them I had feathers in my bed for a week. I only managed to use them twice before they broke. These cuffs are also only useful for handcuffing a wrist to a wrist. They wouldn't fit on my ankles and because they're not very durable, it would not be a good idea to use them to attach someone to a bed with either.

Cleaning: The feathers coming off turns into a big mess, and for that same reason I can't imagine them cleaning well. You'd very likely lose a large number of feathers if you washed them with water. I think the best (and possibly only) way to clean them would be to spot-clean with a disinfecting wipe or wet paper towel.

Honestly, these strike me more as a novelty item than a good durable sex toy. They were fun for a couple uses and an okay purchase for couples who are into light restraints or are thinking about trying a little bit of BDSM in the bedroom without spending a lot of money.

These cuffs are a decent idea for a couple not ready to invest in some high-quality handcuffs and just looking to try them out to see if they like it. They're good for light restraining, very fun, and not intimidating looking.

Months after my initial purchase, these cuffs are still laying at the bottom of my toy pile. They're still broken and I haven't decided whether to try to sew the feather section back onto the chain or just trash them altogether. Still disappointing and not durable.
