Fetish Fantasy rope cuff set - wrist and ankle cuffs discontinued by Pipedream - review by brevado

So we're not new to ropes, but this one caught our eye while on vacation (browsing an actual shop instead of online... it was a vacation after all and we try to avoid the internet when away). I think it's the pink that grabbed me the most. Well, that and the photos on the package, which clearly demonstrate how you can put these things to use.

Out of the box, you immediately notice the "budget" aspect of the entire Fetish Fantasy Series line. It comes packed in the typical Asian sourced cheap plastic bags, complete with the sweatshop scent. Inside, densely packed, you'll find the rope, eye mask, and ball gag. After cleaning the ball-gag, we took it for a spin (open mouth, insert ball, chuckle, remove ball) and realized it could have a use some day, but not any time soon. We're not much for ball-gags, but the pink is cute and the rubber is just soft enough. At 1.5", it's just right for a beginner gag. On to the mask... so we've already got three (a very nice felt and fur by Liberator, a thin silky one that came with something else, and a cheap felt one) and this one's definitely on the cheap side. So then there's the main attraction...

We've got the Japanese silk ropes, which were fun, but the down side is that you have to be an expert in knots to make them work. These come with two sets of ropes, which have adjustable clips (four of them) that make tying up your partner quick and easy. And re-positioning or removing is... you guessed it, just as easy! Add in some shrink-wrap that keeps the ends where they need to be, and these are pretty versatile and fun to use. Overall, they're nice quality for what you pay.

This set doesn't get used a lot anymore. It's cute, but even though it's supposed to be easy (the pre-set loops, etc.) it still seems to be a bit of a hassle. The full range of what you can use it for is very limited to the somewhat pre-set positions that the set it's designed for.

Honestly, once we started using the bondage tape instead, we tend to prefer it. It can be easily cut (using safety scissors or most cutting tools), and it's quick and easy to bind someone. The rope is nice, but the novelty is somewhat short lived.

We don't plan to get rid of it for now, but it doesn't see as much action any more.
