As a flogger, this is an impact play toy. This particular flogger works great as a beginners introduction to mild impact play with a partner. However, it can also be used as a warm up flogger for the more experienced user. If you are looking for a flogger for hard impact and nice marks then I would look elsewhere.

Impact play is not something to be attempted without any prior research, even with a beginners toy such as this. Failure to play with out the right knowledge risks permanent damage.

The Sex and Mischief Faux Leather Flogger is made of faux leather or vinyl. The total length of the flogger is 20 inches, 6inches being the handle and the other 14 inches are the falls. The faux leather is wrapped around the handle, which is just a wooden dowls, in the same way tape is wrapped around the handles of tennis rackets and baseball bats. The vinyl is not glued to the dowel and will come loose and unravel if the handle is handled to roughly. There is a 4 inch hanging loop at the end of the hand allowing you to hang it up when not in use.

The flogger appears at first to not be exceptionally made but not too horrible made either. However, it is lower quality than it appeared. It only lasted halfway though our first session with it before the handle unraveled.

When I first opened it, there was a slight vinyl odor but it diminished after about 2 days of being in open air. The top of the material is very smooth and the back looks like the back of a piece of fabric from the fabric store. The falls are attached to the handle by one silver stud.

The Sex and Mischief Faux Leather Flogger worked for the exact purpose of trying out a new level of impact play. However, the sting left by this flogger was identical to that caused by my husbands hand.. so it failed to create a new sensation. It was great at not being too intense, making it great for beginners. But, I would have liked it to leave more sting. It also only left red marks for about 10 minutes and then they disappeared, so if you want a toy that creates marks this isn't it. Even though this flogger fell short of what I was hoping for, we will still us it but only as a warm up toy.

Being made of vinyl, you can clean this toy with warm water and a mild detergent-free soap and a microfiber cloth or soft bristle brush. To store it, you can hang it on a hook from the loop attached at the bottom of the handle, this will prevent creases to damage the vinyl falls when not in use.
