Whip It Good!

This starter whip is handy for those just getting into BDSM pain play. It's simple yet carries a few nice touches; wooden beads for a handle, and a super soft hanging strap. The latex strands can definitely create welts and even make you bleed if you use it just right. A bit of teasing with the strands brushed lightly across erogenous zones will light you up and get you ready for more. This is one red hot sexy stinging piece, and I'm really glad I bought it.

Use

From beginners to the more experienced BDSM'ers on a budget, the Rouge Latex Whip is a pretty solid choice as a tool for implementing pain. An inexpensive but well-made alternative to more pricey, higher quality floggers, this was a great introduction for me to the world of BDSM. The thin latex strands are great for anything from light teasing along erogenous zones to full blow welt-and-blood-vessel-bursting whip action. The small handle fits comfortably in the hand and the smooth wooden beads feel nice as you let this toy fly through the air to land with a 'WHA-PSHH!' reminiscent of Westerns.

The hot red color is great for adding a little spice to the scene as well. As it's made of nothing but wood and latex, it's also Vegan friendly. No dead cow skin here! Those with latex allergies, however, will want to stay away from this piece.

When it's not being used for more sinister purposes, or if you just need to blame the kitty when nosy neighbors poke around, it will make a great cat toy. Cats love to chase and attack bouncy dangly toys like this.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

This whip is much brighter red than what is showing in my photos. It is certainly hot and adds a bit of spice to your sex scene.

The product profile lists the materials used here as latex and plastic, but the balls on the handle are definitely wooden, painted black.

Super soft strap.

The strap is incredibly silky soft and can be used to store the whip, hanging from a peg or the neck of a hanger in your closet even.

The latex strands are held securely in place by the wooden beads.

The toy is certainly well made, despite the cheaper latex material. The strands are made of the same stuff as the Koosh balls we played with as children of the 80's. It even smells just like them. Kind of rubbery. You'll know the smell when you stick your nose into it. Takes you back! It's not overpowering though, and you likely won't smell it unless you've got your face in it, so nothing to worry about there.

The strands are very very stretchy like a rubber band and will snap back into place if pulled and released. You could incorporate this into play if you're creative.

Flaw in design - bent strands.

The stock photo shows this same flaw. I'm not sure what could've caused the latex pieces to bend at a single point about 3/4 of the way down the body. I've thrown this in my purse plenty of times without taking care to keep the strands straight, with no problems whatsoever.

Bigger than a breadbox... er, credit card.

At 13.5" in length and 1" width, this is a small, light little thing. I would've preferred it at about 2 - 3 times larger, but that may be just because I'm a spoiled brat. My first flogger experience was with an incredibly expensive, handmade leather piece, about 4 inches long and complete with thick leather strips and a sturdy, comfy handle. All high expectations aside, this inexpensive toy does just what it intends to, without the elegance and flair of a higher quality whip.

Performance

The tickling provided by a light brushing of the skin is not as sensual as leather or softer materials would provide. The latex' drag makes it better suited for more hardcore play. And now we're back to the cowboy sounds again. No, really, in all honesty it doesn't make much of a sound. There's the slight 'swish' as it cuts the air and a slight thud as it hits the skin. The moans escaping your lips will be the loudest!

For the more seriously curious out there, a flicking motion is desired. If you really wanna make it hurt, pretend you've got a rolled up wet towel and you're whipping your lady in the ass with it. A last-minute flick of the wrist as opposed to a follow-through will result in some light to serious stinging, and can definitely create red bumpy welts on the skin even after just a thwack or two. If you play long and hard enough you could probably make someone bleed. I don't doubt that.

I really dig how travel-friendly this is. It's small and durable enough to throw into a bag and take with you to parties or your lover's lair.

Care and Maintenance

You can store it however you like, really. Throw it in with the rest of your toys or hang it by the soft strap on a peg somewhere in reach of your bed.

If you get this all lube/y during play, or if you get real serious and end up with blood on your blood-red whip (I warned you!) you can handwash it in soap and water. Hang to dry.

Surprisingly enough, despite the seemingly lint-magnet properties of the latex strands, the Rouge whip doesn't attract any dust bunnies. Just kinky love bunnies. So watch out for those.

Packaging

No packaging was included whatsoever, just a small cardboard tag with the brand name on it. No instructions required, if you ask me. A box would've been a nice touch, though for this price I don't expect much.

Personal comments

I'm pretty sure this will come out of the drawer quite often now that I know how good/bad it feels! That sting on my bare ass and the smile on my boyfriend's face as I yelp... pretty fucking priceless. I also love to admire the marks as they redden on my skin. Pleasure and pain go so well together. A vibe on the clit and maybe my Y-style nipple and clit clamp will up the ante on this foray into BDSM. I'm really glad I bought this.
Follow-up commentary
This ended up hung on my bedroom door, where bits of it were ripped off one strand at a time by my playful kitty. My boy doesn't like pain and I couldn't get him into hitting me very often with it. Too bad. If we were more adventurous or energetic in the bedroom it would certainly get used more often but for now, it's destined for cat toy status only.

I love the color, as well as the price! If only the handle were more substantial and had twice as many strands, it'd be right up my alley. I am a bit spoiled by my big leather flogger, but for this price I might try it. Thanks for the review and the great pictures!
