Dental Dam are just as important as condoms. Even though, a lot of people don't use them, and many have never even heard of them. They provide just as much protection as a condom does, if used properly, of course. The dental dam protects against STD's and the prevention of STI's. If you are participating in oral/genital play, this is the exact product for you.

The Dental Damn is a rectangular sheet (about 8'' by 6'')and it comes in a variety of flavors. It is non-lubricated and has a smooth texture to it. The material is thin and stretchy and the instructions stated that this product should not be stretched out. I was expecting it to be thick and rubbery, but it is the exact opposite. It feels like a latex glove but it doesn't leave any type of residue on your hands after touching it.

The flavor that I got was strawberry. After opening up the package, it in fact smelled like strawberries. After examining the dental dam and smelling the strawberry scent I then attempted to position the dental dam on my partner and placed my mouth on the dental dam. I then realized it tasted like strawberry latex. The taste was displeasing to me, but it wasn't to the point as to where it was overbearing or overwhelming. Safe sex is the best sex. So it is better to be protected with the dam, than no protection at all.

Besides the taste, I have no complaints from the dental dam. As long as you hold it, it will stay in place. Just make sure that it doesn't get stretched out to wide because you will run the risk of ripping it. This product is designed to prevent bodily fluids from being exchanged orally and it did its intended purpose.

Even though I haven't tried the dental dam since my first time, my impression of these are still alright. It served its purpose, but the taste is just too horrible and displeasing to me for me to order any more. The dental dam is in fact a protector, but I'm not sure I will be using them again. I have since switched to flavored condoms because the taste in my opinion isn't as bad.
