Hard as Rock

As with any Tantus toy, Hank is a high quality, pure silicone toy that can satisfy yet provide some discomfort. He's one big guy when used anally with a veined texture along the shaft and a slight ridge at the head. While Hank's hefty diameter may feel satisfying, the stiff silicone may please some and leave others with a bad experience. Anally, Hank is hard as rock and almost feels like one, too.

Use

Tantus Hank is a realistic silicone dildo ideal for use both vaginally and anally. It's great for solo use and would make a nice toy to use with a partner. This is a dildo that's comparable to an average sized penis, so it might prove to be quite thick when using it anally. It features a set of realistic looking balls at the base which also acts as a flared base which makes it perfect for butt play. The balls also act as a nice handle when thrusting. The shaft is slightly curved upward, but I don't think it's too significant, and it may or may not provide proper G-spot or P-spot stimulation (although it could if you tried). There are also smooth veins along the shaft that don't feel too pronounced when touching with your fingers, yet they feel quite bumpy when thrusting it anally. Another significant thing to mention is the ridge on the head. It may not look or feel very protrusive, but when using it in a tight orifice, it causes a slight pull and feels like a big bump. I've only used Hank in my rear, and he definitely provides a very full feeling inside.

Material / Texture

Unlike a lot of other toys by Tantus, this dildo is quite firm. It's made of 100% medical-grade platinum silicone, so it's phthalate-free, nonporous, and completely odorless. The silicone has a rougher matte surface as opposed to the smoother, glossy surfaces found on other Tantus dildos. This texture definitely has a different feel inside the body, but it does retain lube very well. Although this is a realistic toy, it's too hard to actually feel realistic. I found that Hank is simply too firm and hard to use comfortably anally, and the ridge on the head and the bumpy shaft don't help either. This would be an excellent dildo for advanced anal users looking for something harder with some texture. However, I found it too inflexible and uncomfortable to use back there. It doesn't conform well with the curves of the body, and the head is just too large, rounded, and hard, which makes this dildo incredibly difficult to insert even with a good amount of warming up.

Design / Shape / Size

Hank is a thick dildo with a 1.6 inch diameter and a 6.75 inch length with 5.75 inches of that length being insertable. The slight curve may provide P-spot or G-spot stimulation, but I think thrusting motions might work better even though the rigidity of the dildo might make it difficult or uncomfortable especially when used anally. The head is hard and inflexible just like the shaft, and it's also rounded and quite difficult to insert. It features a urethral opening that isn't really noticeable once inside, and the ridge at the head feels like an annoying speed bump. As I mentioned before, the shaft features slightly raised veins that may not feel very pronounced when holding in your hand, but once Hank is sliding through your anus, they feel very bumpy. If you're one who prefers smooth toys without any texture, the Tantus Hank might be a bad choice for you. Normally, I can accommodate a softer dildo at this size. Unfortunately, Hank is simply too hard and too rigid to feel pleasurable. It's quite a shame since this dildo looks very attractive for a realistic dildo and feels nice to the touch. I definitely recommend this for experienced anal users.

Since Hank is a realistic dildo, it is in no way discreet. I'm not certain if this would be suitable for travel. While it isn't the largest dildo available, it certainly won't fit in your pocket.

Performance

The greatest thing about Hank is that he provides a nice feeling of fullness. This was probably the only thing I enjoyed most about this dildo. Hank is the largest dildo I've used, so his large size was very welcome. Unfortunately, his extreme rigidity just made playing with him too uncomfortable. In addition to this, thrusting motions would begin to irritate my hole as the ridged head and the bumpy shaft slid in and out. The fact that the surface of the silicone is a rougher matte texture as opposed to a smoother glossy one didn't help. Even though I used ample lube and warmed up properly, the discomfort that Hank provided just wasn't worth it. I suppose if you're an anal user who loves larger, inflexible toys or if you plan to use this for vaginal use, Hank would be an excellent dildo. Other than that, Hank feels hard as rock and just as rough.

Care and Maintenance

Since Hank is made of platinum silicone, caring for him is easy, and proper care should ensure he lasts a lifetime. Washing it with hot water and antibacterial soap is the simplest way to clean this dildo, but you can sterilize it by boiling or bleaching. Hank can best be stored in a Ziploc bag in order to prevent lint, dust, and hair from sticking to the toy. Even though it has a matte texture, I still found that Hank attracted all sorts of debris, albeit not as much as a glossy toy.

Make sure to use only water-based lubes with Hank. My personal favorites are Maximus and Cal Exotics Anal Lube with Maximus being my favorite. Using a silicone lube will degrade the material of the toy and make it unusable.

Packaging

Hank comes in the standard Tantus packaging: a translucent plastic box with red accents and writing in white. You can clearly see the dildo through the box, so it's quite indiscreet. The dildo is fit snugly in a plastic insert. There are no instructions included, and the box doesn't work well as a storage box for your toy since it takes a significant amount of space. I highly recommend keeping Hank in a Ziploc bag or any other resealable storage bag to keep it away from debris.

Personal comments

This is definitely another high-quality dildo made by Tantus. Don't think that my review score reflects the quality of this toy. Hank is no doubt a great piece of silicone on its own. I just don't think that Hank makes a very good anal dildo unless you're an advanced user. It isn't the most practical anal toy because of its prominent texture and its stiff silicone. Honestly, I've been able to take in larger diameter yet softer toys with ease. However, I really believe that Hank's firm and inflexible silicone makes accommodating him in your butt an uncomfortable experience. With that said, Hank would probably make an excellent vaginal dildo or a good anal dildo for advanced users only.
Follow-up commentary
I decided to give Hank another try after not using him for over a year. I've been playing with larger dildos than Hank lately, but the silicone on these toys is much softer. Regardless, their diameters were much larger than Hank's, so I felt confident in being able to handle Hank easily.

Hank wasn't a completely smooth insertion. The hard, round head still proved difficult to insert at first. As I felt the shaft slide in, I was reminded of the hardness of Hank's silicone. It was easy to maneuver the dildo since I was prepped, but I still did not enjoy the bumpy texture along the shaft. Removing the head again felt uncomfortable due to the ridge.

Although I still did not enjoy Hank for our little reunion (twice actually), it did prove to me once again that softer dildos at larger sizes are much easier to accommodate anally, especially since I tend to enjoy rough thrusting. Tantus' O2 Mark is a comparable dildo to Hank. They're both a similar size, length, and diameter. However, Mark is constructed out of a super soft outer layer of silicone. His head is also super squishy, making Mark significantly easier to handle while being exceedingly pleasurable at the same time.

My conclusion: if you're looking for a realistic anal dildo at this size, skip over Hank and choose Mark instead. He's definitely worth the extra dough.

I acquired one of these over the weekend, and I'm wondering now if Tantus altered the design at some point, because mine is really soft, which came as a pleasant surprise.
