General - dildo discontinued by Tantus - review by Laccaria

When my lover first suggested that I review the Tantus General for my next toy review, I was skeptical. While I frequently use the General on him, I myself have been way too chicken to ever try it out on my own delicate flesh. The General, you see, is a very large dildo. With 6 ¾” of insertable length a 2” diameter, he is imposingly long, thick and heavy. He is also quite firm and unyielding. Our version is a deep matte black which only adds to the impression of gravity that this dildo gives off. You do not mess around lightly with the General.

Yet, I do have things to say about how delightful it is to work this imposing dildo into the willing ass of someone you love. So, I did the only responsible thing I could think of and manned up to give the General a try myself.

I got out a few smaller dildos, my favorite vibrator and plenty of lube and got down to business. After loosening up with my favorite large dildo, the Tantus Squirt, I decided that I felt ready to tackle the General. And, you know what? After a few twinges of mild discomfort, I was able to insert this dildo all the way to my cervix. This was nowhere near inserting the General to his base, but there’s only so much a girl can do for the sake of a toy review!

Quite frankly, the experience was rather odd. It felt more gynecological than sensual. The extra inches of dildo that had no hope of making it into my vagina just seemed…excessive. Now I fully admit that I am not a size queen, and if length is your thing the General will not disappoint. Nonetheless, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the General is not really a vaginal dildo. It’s just too long, and the maximum girth is at the base where even the aficionado of the very thick dildo is unlikely to be able to appreciate it.

Far be it for me to tell you what you want in a dildo, but my feeling is that there are much better vaginal dildos out there. The Squirt, which I mentioned before, is nearly as thick as the General, much better shaped for g-spot stimulation, and plenty long enough for my vagina without feeling ridiculously over long. In fact, after a few minute with the General I went back to my friendly pink Squirt. I missed her curviness.

That said, if you are looking for a large anal dildo, the General may be your new best friend. Possibly, this is why Tantus sells the General exclusively as part of their “Toys Just for Boys” product line. Many of their toys appear in both their “Toys Just for Boys” and their general product line (including the Squirt/Captain). The General, on the other hand, is sold exclusively “Just for Boys.”

And there really is something exquisite about strapping on a big, thick dildo and slooowly penetrating your partner’s ass while they moan and squirm underneath you. Of course, it helps if you partner is something of an anal size queen, as mine has turned out to be. If you can find a willing recipient, or you have a brave ass yourself, I think you will enjoy this dildo immensely.

And this dildo deserves to be enjoyed. It really is imposing and beautifully crafted. Like all of Tantus’s soft toys, it is made of very firm, medical grade 100% silicone which is hypoallergenic, nonporous and easily sterilized. It is also wonderfully silky, despite the matte finish which makes it appear textured rather than slick. And it’s deliciously smooth and unyielding with a tapered tip for easy insertion, all things I look for in a quality anal dildo.

The General is definitely a specialty dildo for the very advanced anal player, but according to my boyfriend it is great at what it does. And what it does is stretch your ass impressively, while the gentle bumps and curvature stimulate your prostate (if you have one). So, if you are looking for a large vaginal toy, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a truly large anal dildo, this may very well be your solider.
