Vibrating champlette - dildo discontinued by Vixen Creations, Inc - review by Carrie Ann

I'm not quite sure what a champlette is or if it even is anything. It could be a made up word for all I know. But I do know that the Vibrating Champlette is a champ of a dildo.

First of all, it's gorgeous. Seriously. Freaking. Gorgeous. Like all Vixen products, it's pure silicone of the nicest kind; firm yet squeezable with a smooth, glossy look and feel to it. It's purple, yet it's the most amazing purple I've ever seen. I, quite seriously, loathe purple. Loathe it. Yet this Vixen purple silicone (which can also be found on the silicone Randy) is not *just* purple. It's swirly, shimmery, deep purple that reminds me of the Northern Lights when I lived in an area where I could occasionally see them. Held to the light and turned, twisted, it appears to be sublte shades of light purple, darkest plum, and blue, all with an iridescence that is a feast for the eyes.

Beyond the way it looks, however, the Champlette is also effective and amazing in use. It tapers from approximately an inch at the tip of it's defined, bulbous head to a girthy inch and three quarters at the bottom of it's shaft. This makes it easy to insert and easy to work up to the full girth as you become more aroused and ready for it. The head is detailed, with a distinct ridge on it's underside and a raised ridge/vein running down the top of it's shaft. The head, despite being very defined, is soft enough that catching on my pubic bone wasn't much of an issue and realistic enough that it felt... well... realistic when inserted.

The Champlette measures six and a half inches in length with all but three quarters of an inch being insertable. It's base is flared, making it excellent for harness use and completely safe for anal use. The base is round and flat on the underside, with a small hole about the length of my pinky finger for a bullet to fit. The bullet it comes with is a typical watch battery operated push button silver bullet, though it does also have an attached retrieval string on it, making it a bit easier to remove than those without this string. (I still suggest using a bit of water based lube on the bullet, however, before inserting it. This makes it a LOT easier to remove when you're done) For those who are not a fan of watch battery bullets, small wired bullets also fit the hole on this dildo; the extreme pack bullet works perfectly, if you don't mind the wires. The included bullet gives you a mild vibration that travels well thru the dense silicone for a bit of extra stimulation during penetration but not enough to try to use this dildo as a clitoral vibe. Wired bullets transmit as a more moderate, slightly stronger vibration but are not going to make this into a high strength vibrator.

The Vibrating Champlette is probably one of the most perfect dildos I've tried yet. Its tapered shaft makes it excellent for just about any level of user and allows you to work up to its full girth. Its length is not intimidating but is still enough to satisfy and easily manipulate. It has a slight curve, which is enough, along with the distinct head, to very nicely stimulate the g-spot so long as you're already familiar with where yours is and don't need a super firm toy. It flexes and bends in half if you manipulate it yet has no flop at all when waggled in the air.

And? It's gorgeous. Absolutely, amazingly gorgeous.

As with all silicone toys, you can wash this with soap and water to clean or use a mild bleach solution, the dishwasher (no soap!) or a pot of boiling water to sanitize. Use only water or oil based lubes with it unless you do a patch test with your silicone lube on an inconspicuous area; silicone lubes can sometimes have a negative reaction with silicone toys.

Do store it in a bag of some sort if you can since it collects insane amounts of lint and dust -- or, alternately, make sure you give it a rinse before use to rid it of these foreign matters so you're not inserting them along with the dildo.

Sometimes I get mad at myself for getting new toys that replace the old. It's not like the old ones did anything wrong, just that the new ones are new and sometimes nicer.

This is what has happened with me and the Champlette. I love it. It's SO beautiful. Did I mention in the original review how gorgeous its colors are? Stunning! And yet, I find I rarely use it. I have too many favorites at the moment that I like justttttttttttt enough more that they get chosen first.

And so I took a moment to stop and think the last time I grabbed for a dildo and grabbed the Champlette instead of what would have been my first choice. (yes, yes, the Lone Star)

And, ya know what?

I'm glad I did. I was reminded exactly why I like this dildo so well. Beauty, brawn and excellent performance.

I promise, my little champ, I shall not neglect you so long again!
