There aren't enough bright green sex toys on the market. The Vixen Astro Vibe is one such example of this rare breed, and it's made of the highest quality, most hygienic material to boot. Best of all possible worlds! Made of Vixen's regular silicone (as opposed to their softer VixSkin formulation), the Astro Vibe is fairly firm with a little bit of squish. The bright green of the toy is intermixed with shiny bluish swirls, and it's really cool-looking. This is a biggish toy, with a diameter of 1 5/8 inches, so it might take a little warm-up for some users to be able to enjoy it. The head is a little narrower and it widens the closer you get to the base. It comes packaged in the traditional Vixen plastic tube, which can also be used for storage.

One of the things I liked best about the Astro Vibe was the graduated head. This dildo isn't realistic at all, so there's no defined head to catch on anyone's pubic bone or increase the initial girth. So it means that even though this is a pretty girthy toy, it's not painful to insert or thrust with. The ridges provide a little bit of texture, but they're spaced out pretty far (about an inch in between each), so it's really more of an occasional accent and might perform well as an introduction to texture since it's not overwhelming. Since the toy is pretty big, I enjoyed leaving the toy mostly stationary to squeeze around as opposed to using it to thrust vigorously. That said, the shaft has a little curve to it and the head is firm enough for effective g-spotting.

The Astro Vibe also comes equipped with a standard silver bullet for insertion into the hole in the base. This bullet is fitted with a fairly long retrieval cord, which does make prying the bullet out of the toy a little easier (make sure to lube up the bullet a little before inserting it into the toy). You only get one speed with this bullet, and to be perfectly honest it's a little hard to feel through the dense silicone. I'm personally not a huge fan of internal vibrations, so I recommend using a separate vibe on your clit. But if you like internal vibrations, the Astro Vibe has got you covered, even if the vibrations are a little hard to feel through the thick walls of the base.

Versatility is another reason to love this toy. It's anal-safe (the base is very substantial, so no worries about it getting lost) and it's harness-compatible (although smaller o-rings might not be sufficient to handle this toy). It's pretty firm, so I imagine one would have a lot of control over it if wielding it in a harness, although I have not been able to verify this since I do not own a harness. But I think it would perform rather well.

As far as maintenance is concerned, care for the Astro Vibe as you would any other silicone toy (no silicone lube, can be sterilized by boiling or 10% bleach solution, store away from dust/lint if possible). I really like storing it in the Vixen tube; you can just throw the bullet right in with it, keeping everything organized in the same place.

All in all, this is yet another fantastic offering from Vixen Creations that has many different uses. It's especially great for those of us who are not super enthusiastic about realistic dildos. It's the epitome of the fun, abstract toy. It's a good fit for someone who wants moderate size and moderate texture. And really, who doesn't love green dildos?
