When I opened the Radiant Gems package and grabbed the dildo, I was surprised at how good the material felt. This is my first dildo, so I spent a lot of time squishing and bending the dildo. It's quite pliable, but firm. I ran my fingers over the head and down the shaft, feeling the veins. At the bottom of the dildo there is a "crater" of some sorts, which comes in handy when thrusting the toy in and out. It's the perfect size for a thumb. The Sil-A-Gel material is made of PVC components, but is phthalate and latex-free, with anti-bacterial properties. The package insert insists it is "lightly scented" and I guess the light scent is cherry-tinged insecticide because that's all I could really pick up from breathing around this thing. The smell isn't totally unpleasant; I've dealt with it before with a Doc Johnson butt plug (I've had it a year and it still smells like rubber blueberries). Some may find the smell unbearable, but thorough washing of the toy, especially before you first use it, helps. After quite a few trips to the bed with the dildo, and several washings, the smell has considerably gone down. I love handling the toy though it has a slight tacky feeling to it. This thing can also double as a lint-roller. Be careful if storing this dildo in a velvet-lined box or next to anything remotely furry because it's like the Swiffer of dildos.

The size may seem daunting at first, especially for beginners. I'm used to a 1 and a half inch diameter cock and have a rather tight pussy, and was worried initially that the 1 5/8" diameter would be too much, but it's just perfect. The supple material filled me up exquisitely without making me wince in pain. The length is wonderful and I really enjoy the little nook at the end for getting a good handle at thrusting. The head does look a little large and intimidating, but you won't notice when you're wet and lubed up. This baby slides right it. The raised veins and tapering near the head add a realistic quality without being overly detailed. I love that the dildo isn't perfectly round, but rather more shaped like an actual cock. There is a ridge on the underside of the shaft, as well as on the top (the anatomical terms elude me at the moment).

The simplicity and classic design of this dildo are what keeps it next to me almost constantly. The width and length are wonderful; the smell, not so much. It has no flared base so please be careful if using anally.

Be sure to wash this dildo when you first take it out of the package, and before and after each use. As mentioned earlier, the material this dildo is made of (Sil-A-Gel) is tacky at times and easily attracts dust, hair and lint. Storing it in a fabric-free box or a bag would be the best bet. Water-based and silicone lube may be used, but to be safe, you may want to stick with water-based. When cleaning this toy, be careful to clean the veining and ridges near the head, and don't forget the bottom, concave base of the dildo.

The toy came packaged in a pretty standard plastic setup. Measurements are absent from the package, as are tips for cleaning or storage. But all in all, it's not an ugly package.

This is my first dildo so my expectations were ridiculously high, especially after reading so many positive reviews. I am beyond pleased. It arrived at my doorstep with a bullet vibe and lube so I couldn't wait to get my little solo party started.
