Glass feels absolutely incredible during penetration, and the sheer physical beauty of it alone is enough to turn on anyone. The Pearl Drops glass dildo is another great example of an affordable glass toy that is as aesthetically pleasing as it is satisfying.

The Pearl Drops dildo arrives in incredibly secure packaging. The dildo is wedged tightly in to a square of Styrofoam, with a plastic twisty-tie wrapped around the middle of the dildo and tied in the back of the Styrofoam square. This Styrofoam square is held by a fitted clear plastic box, which is inside of a blue cardboard box. In other words, this dildo is packaged up so tightly that the chances of it breaking during shipping are slim to none. Still, always check your glass toys for any cracks or chips prior to use.

There are no instructions included beyond a small blurb on the back of the box, but said blurb is also translated in to several languages other than English, which is a plus in my opinion. The box also notes that the glass material is sanitary and hypoallergenic.

The dildo itself is composed out of a series of 7 seamlessly-connected glass balls, which increase in size from one tip of the toy to the other. The smallest ball is about as wide as a US penny, while the largest ball is a bit bigger than a US quarter. The thinner end of the toy has a slight upward curve to it. The official details say that the dildo is about 1 1/8" wide, which is a bit on the thinner side as far as dildos go.

The Pearl Drops dildo is also on the lighter side, weighing barely half a pound. It is a surprisingly plain toy as far as glass dildos go, thanks to its lack of color, but it is still attractive and well-made, with no seams or rough edges. This smoothness can make the dildo a bit hard to grasp if your hands are wet, so make sure you have a towel nearby to wipe off excess lube!

This dildo feels great when you thrust it, thanks to the areas where the glass balls connect, which provides a unique "rolling" feeling (for lack of a better term) on your vaginal walls. In other words, it almost feels like a glass ball is rolling in and out of your vagina; strange, but incredibly stimulating! Also, because the balls on the toy start small and progressively get larger towards the opposite end of the toy, you can start at either side, effectively choosing between a slimmer dildo or a thicker one, depending on your girth preferences.

The slight bend in the Pearl Drops dildo's shape makes it easier to stimulate your g-spot as well. This toy IS glass, however, so it is completely rigid and cannot be bent; hence, you will have to thrust in a very particular manner to continuously stimulate your g-spot.

One of the best things about glass toys is that they tend to be super-receptive to temperatures, and the Pearl Drops dildo is no exception. You can place this dildo in the fridge for a few moments to cool it, or submerge it in warm water for a warmer treat, and the temperature will stick for about 10-15 minutes straight. Because this particular glass toy doesn't vibrate and lacks a textured surface, changing the dildo's temperature is the best way to make it stimulating for your clitoris. Pressing chilled glass against your clit can feel absolutely amazing!

The Pearl Drops dildo suffers from one major flaw: it does not come with a carrying case. Because glass can crack when it's dropped or hit by other toys in your box, I highly recommend you wrap this dildo in a small towel or consider purchasing a separate pouch to prevent breakage.

The first thing I do when I get a glass toy is stick it in my mini-fridge. (Sometimes I worry that I'll be forced to entertain visitors pre-masturbation session and ask them to fetch the milk, which is "right next to my dildo.") Like all glass dildos, the Pearl Drops dildo took to temperature play like a fish to water, and I loved the feeling of the cold glass on my clitoris. I'm not as big on heated toys, but I DID microwave this bad boy for about 30 seconds, and I was impressed by how quickly it heated up. Watch how long you put this dildo in to your microwave; it may become too hot to handle...literally!

While I was disappointed in the lack of a textured surface, I was surprised by how great this toy felt during penetration! The "rolling" feeling is unique compared to the sensations my other dildos can provide, and it feels especially interesting when you thrust AND twist the dildo. The curved end stimulates my g-spot BEAUTIFULLY!

I don't think this dildo is the prettiest I've ever seen (probably because I've been spoiled by more colorful glass toys), but every friend who saw it said, "Oooh, it's so lovely!" Hence, it may only be seasoned glass lovers who find this toy a little on the plain side.

Glass is a completely sanitary and non-porous material that can be used with any lubricant your heart desires. You can clean it by submerging it in a pot of lukewarm water and boiling it for a few minutes, wiping it down with soap, toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach/90% water solution, or even washing it in the top rack of your dishwasher, without soap, on its most delicate setting. I personally prefer the boiling method.

This dildo does not have a flared base and is therefore not recommended for anal play in any way, shape, or form.
