The Inked Glass Shaft by California Exotics so versatile, it is almost perfect. It has a slightly curved shaft making it great for G-spot stimulation when thrusting, and because it has a flared base anal play is safe. This dildo is made from a type of tempered glass called Pyrex (borosilicate glass). This means if you drop it, it won’t shatter-actually it probably won’t break at all. I have accidently droped it from above waist level onto a tile floor and it didn’t chip, or crack it in the slightest bit, so if breaking this toy is something you are worried about breathe easy. Because it is made from glass this dildo is extremely smooth all over, except where the ‘tattoo’ has been applied which is still smooth just slightly less smooth than the rest. There is a very small bit of texture on the head in the form of two small lined indentions.

The Inked Glass Shaft has a pretty basic phallic shape. At the top is a mushroom like head that flows nicely into the shaft, and there is a flare at the bottom. The total length from the tip of the head to the bottom of the flare is 6 inches, and the total circumference of the shaft is 4.5 inches. The circular flared base is 1 ½ inches wide making it safe for anal play and the slight curve is great for reaching your G-spot.





The dildo is crystal clear, but on the shaft is a ‘tattoo’ appliqué, that has been baked on. At first I thought the design was an anchor, but it is actually a cross, heart, small anchor and a banner. It looks a little busy to me, but not in a way that takes away from the overall look of the dildo.

As a dildo this works perfectly. The size is great without being too big or too small. When using vaginally the flared base works great as a handle for thrusting. I do advise that you be careful when thrusting as there is no give and being too rough could result in bruising the cervix. Even better than using it vaginally you can use it anally. Again, the size is filling enough without being painful or too much.

Glass is non-porous and when it comes to cleaning it really doesn’t get any easier. You can wash it simply with some anti-bacterial soap and warm water, or even put it in the dishwasher. It is best to store your glass dildo in a padded pouch (not included) but you can also store it in the clam shell packaging the dildo comes in.

Any kind of lubricant can be used with this toy without the worry of damaging the dildo.

The Inked Glass Shaft arrives in a clam shell package with a paper insert. The front of the insert has the man, as well as the manufacturer’s name. The back gives some information about caring for your glass toy such as “Wash before and after each use”, and a website if you would like to register your dildo. Overall the packaging is a little bland compared to the product and wouldn’t stand out in a shop. It is great for storing the dildo, but a storage pouch would be better.

My biggest fear when purchasing this dildo was that the tattoo appliqué would flake or chip. When I got it I was relieved to find that even when scrapping it with my fingernail none of it came off, but I still couldn’t use it in good faith without a condom. Even after many washes, dropping it on the floor, several uses and scrapping it again lightly with a key, none of it has come off so I feel confident that it won’t be an issue, but I am going to continue using a condom just to be on the safe side.
