Remedy rider - realistic vibrator discontinued by NMC Ltd - review by Gelisol

I love the Remedy Rider. It is my first realistic vibrator, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's fairly small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with vibration. It is best for G-spot stimulation although the vibrations are definitely sufficient for clitoral stimulation as well. I have found that the vibrations carry well throughout the toy, and I usually start out rubbing the tip on my clitoris before insertion. The vibrations definitely satisfy both areas. It has multiple speed settings which are controlled by a dial on the end of the toy. I just turn it up to the max setting and leave it there as it is slightly awkward to adjust during use, and I find the max setting the most satisfying. It is ideal for individual use but could be very fun to utilize during foreplay with a partner. I am in a long distance relationship, and it has been very fun to use during skype sessions. The bright pink color makes it very visible, and my boyfriend loves watching me use it.

The toy is advertised as waterproof, but if you read the packaging it says not to use in the tub or a pool. It is waterproof enough for the shower and for cleaning.

One of my favorite aspects of this toy is the material. It is 100% silicone which is safe to use and feels really nice. I wasn't sure what material to look for when buying a realistic vibrator since this is my first, and I was afraid the silicone wouldn't insert well, but that has not been a problem at all! The material slides in easily but provides just enough friction that when paired with the realistic ridges and bumps it creates amazing G-spot stimulation. I have actually used the toy without the vibrations and have still been able to get off even though it is far smaller than an average penis. Also, because it is silicone, it doesn't have any smell or taste and has supple texture. Chemical smells make me uncomfortable when it comes to items I am putting in such sensitive areas, so the silicone is really nice and puts my mind at ease. I think the texture is great for anyone from beginner to advanced!

I very much enjoy the design. The realistic shape aids in stimulation, and while it is rather on the small side, it definitely gets the job done. As a beginner I didn't want anything too big but was then a little concerned when I opened the toy and found it to be so small. However, after using it for the first time my concerns disappeared. The toy is definitely large enough to reach your G-spot, and the thickness is not a problem because of the vibrations. It is the perfect size for a beginner who might be intimidated by larger toys. I also like that the shaft is made with a flexible mechanism. I didn't want anything too rigid because it doesn't seem very realistic, and I wanted something that could move just enough to follow body movement. My only concern with the design was the neon pink color because it doesn't make the toy very discreet, but it turns out to be great for use over skype because it shows up so well.

I am definitely happy with the performance. It does exactly what it's supposed to do every time, and I have been very pleased that I have been able to include my partner in the fun even over long distance. I do find the controls to be a bit of a problem because the vibration is controlled by a simple dial on the end of the toy. It tends to slip while in use and is kind of awkward to adjust while inserted. I don't actually have much use for the other settings as the highest one is my favorite. I would actually be happier if it just had on/off options so that I didn't have to deal with it sliding to lower settings just as things are getting heated. On the positive side, I have been very pleased with the battery life. It takes just one AA battery which I have only needed to replace once even though I have used it quite a bit.

In terms of noise, it really is pretty quiet; especially when inserted and therefore muffled by your body. My apartment is designed so that I share a wall with my roommate, and the walls are pretty thin. I have been perfectly comfortable using it even when she is home because the sound is so discreet. One pitfall you may find is that it cannot be completely submerged in water, even though it is advertised as waterproof. It can still be used in the shower and is safe to get completely wet while cleaning, which is my only concern. So I haven't had a problem with its limitations, but if you are looking for a toy to use in the tub or a pool, this is not the choice for you.

Since this toy is 100% silicone you should not use silicone lubes with it, but water based are completely fine. In terms of cleaning; it is easily cleaned with soap and water, but you can of course use your favorite cleaner if you have one. Although silicone is heat stable, I wouldn't suggest boiling it or putting it in the dishwasher because of the plastic settings and screw-top battery compartment. The silicone doesn't hold scent, and is non-porous. It cleans very easily should you feel the need to boil it anyway.

Unfortunately, the Remedy Rider does not come in a container that you can then use for storage. You will want to find your own container to put it in. It is neon pink and pretty obviously a sex toy. So it isn't discreet enough to leave out, unless you don't mind people seeing it and knowing exactly what it is.

The packaging this toy came in isn't my favorite. My first toy was a simple vibrator from Evolve which set me up to be disappointed because those come in nice, discreet, tin containers. This toy comes in cheap plastic that isn't even box-shaped. It is like the packaging they hang up on wire racks at stores. Don't let the packaging fool you though, the performance and material of this toy is far from cheap.

It did come with a fair amount of information, including a section on tests you can do to ensure your product is 100% silicone and not a blend which I found nice. It also includes a lot of information about the advantages of silicone as well as tips to keep your toy functioning properly.

I absolutely love this toy. I have a very healthy libido, which makes my long distance relationship very frustrating, but this toy has proved a wonderful solution. While it doesn't completely replace my man, it is a nice substitute when I really need that sexual satisfaction and he is not around. It definitely relieves my tension and makes those long, lonely nights less frustrating.
