Scrudy - strap-on dildo discontinued by Fun Factory - review by Owl Identified

For a long time the eccentric shape of Fun Factory's Scrudy had me too scared to take a chance on it. Its silhouette is, after all, vaguely reminiscent of the horn of a mythical beast. And something about those wiggles...I don't know, they didn't appear to be very forgiving. Luckily for me, I was very, very wrong, because Scrudy's ripples and turns amount to one excellent little G-spotter with a much worse bark than bite. A creepy looking orange horn-dildo with all the properties of a Top 5 toy hiding behind a funky exterior.

Featuring a wide, clover-shaped base blossoming out from beneath, the Scrudy is perfect both for harness play and for anal play. Unfortunately, the hooked end was a little too intimidating for me to attempt to use in my beginner's booty. However, I'm sort of a wuss, and I would say that intermediate and advanced anal players would love find this is great for prostate stimulation or g-spot stimulation through the rectal wall. Normally a cock this thin would be a little tricky to keep in place in a harness, but due to its exceptionally broad base it fits very snugly for myself. Not to mention that those new to vaginal penetration should find this toy is ideal for their purposes. Its non-phallic shape, day-glo pigments, small size and squishy flexibility make this a great starter dildo. The crescent moon shaped curve at the tip of the toy makes finding your G-spot pretty easy, although if you require very firm pressure the squishiness of this one might be a problem.

Scrudy is made from Fun Factory's premium silicone, which tends to have a smooth and yet matte texture. Scrudy lacks the slippery, glossy finish of many other toys, and its texture give it just the slightest bit of friction when you insert it. Fun Factory's silicone is one of my favorites as a result. I love having that little bit of resistance for extra sensation, and yet it avoids that high-friction feeling of riding down a dry water slide in the summer. This is a very squishy toy as well! I was kind of amazed that when I squeezed the tip between my index finger and thumb I could see my Scrudy yielding to the pressure. It was firm enough to hit my G-spot pretty nicely, although I can see some people desiring just a little more density. Be warned that if you enjoy firm stimulation this dildo may not give you exactly what you're looking for.

Silicone has no taste or inherent smell, although you will find that silicone can pick up scents (especially when used anally). Because silicone is non-porous nothing is actually absorbed into the toy; the smell is something that can only accumulate on the surface. By simply leaving your dildo out in the open air for 24-48 hours most of the smell should dissipate.

At about 5 inches in length, only about 4 of those being insertable, the Scrudy is a fairly petite little guy. At its widest bulge, this toy is scarcely over an inch in diameter, which to me seemed like enough girth for me on paper. In reality it fell a little short of my appetites and I think might let down those that like a little more of that "full" feeling. However, this toy leaves a lot of room for maneuvering and finding the right spot. I also can't squirt while my vagina is "full" so to speak, so personally while I did wish that the diameter was a touch more substantial, it did lend itself nicely to ejaculation.

And those weird ripples and the hook I was talking about earlier? AWESOME! The hook tends to squirm around when you apply some pressure/thrust too fast due to the silicone's flexibility, which can be a bit of a nuisance. On the whole though this did a great job of reaching my G-spot and applying pretty consistent pressure to it. I should also note that the ripples appear to do a screw-like kind of spiral around the toy, but are actually bulging, self-contained rings. Each ring creates a distinct little "pop" feeling when inserting which I loved, but might be too much stimulation for some when it comes to anal.

Finally, one of the most creative and efficient aspects of this toy's design is its broad base. The funky clover shape is more than just fun to look at, though Fun Factory is definitely known for their aesthetics. Rather, each dip in the clover shape creates a little gripping nook to help prevent slippage during thrusting. If you've ever tried to hold a circular base while thrusting, you know how hard it can be to maintain a grip when lube's a-flyin'. The base is also very thick, which prevents it from folding over when you hold it and also allows for it to fit more snugly in a harness.

I've already gotten to most of the details about the performance of this toy, but I should mention its suction cup capabilities since I haven't yet. The bottom of the base has a very shallow, graduated little cavity that is supposed to be a suction cup. Hint: it is definitely NOT a suction cup. With some fierce pressure I can get this to stick to my headboard for a maximum of 30 seconds roughly before it topples. Any movement of the toy itself means collapse as well. The trouble, I think, is that a good suction cup needs a little depth and a very abrupt outline such as those on many Vixen Creations toys. So be warned that this is not a very sticky suction cup!

Without few nooks or crannies for goop or lube to get stuck in, this dildo is very easy to clean. Silicone is 100% non-porous meaning that no nasty microbes can be absorbed into the toy, so a thorough cleaning of the surface will sanitize your new friend very nicely. Simply throw into a pot of boiling water for 3-4 minutes, wash on the top rack of your dishwasher (no soap!) or wipe down with a 10% bleach solution. Silicone is not compatible with silicone based lubes (the two substances can bond leaving behind a gummy mess on your toy,) so stick to water or oil bases. Finally, keep Scrudy in a Ziploc bag or lint-free toy pouch because silicone has an awful habit of attracting lint, dust and hair. Trust me, it's way easier than cleaning it off before AND after every use.
