Scrudy - strap-on dildo discontinued by Fun Factory - review by Carrie Ann

I looked at the Scrudy for a long time. I had the Scrudy on my wishlist for years. I was in lust with the way the Scrudy looks and thought for sure it would feel as good as it looks, maybe better. I mean, it's orange. It had to be good.

It made me unspeakably sad when Scrudy was, for me, more of a Duddy.

The basics

Scrudy is a silicone dildo with a wriggly looking shaft, a tipped up g-spot head and a nice, thick flared base to make it anal safe and harness compatible. The silicone is what I've come to think of as typical Fun Factory; dense, matte, velvety and firm with a bit of give to it but no flop. The base is kind of clover shaped and very easy to hold in your hand, with natural indentations for the fingers to sit. Scrudy measures 5.5" long (4.5 insertable) with a girth close to 1.5". The shaft is textured with a wriggly pattern, almost like a series of s's running down it's length. The tip is curved for g-spot stimulation and slightly tapered for easy insertion.

In my hand, the Scrudy felt good. The texture is a bit more extreme than I normally like but interesting, none-the-less.


Unfortunately, in my vagina, the Scrudy didn't feel good at all.

The reality

For me, it turned out the only good thing Scrudy had going for it was its bright orange color. And it is bright, a beautiful mango orange that is super fun to look at, that stands out amid the sea of purples and pinks.

In use, the tip was obtrusive, pokey feeling and very abrupt. The texture, in a longer toy, might have been okay but in something this short... Meh. I just never felt like I got to really feel it. The tip would go in and feel all weird and jarring and then I'd feel a wriggle or two but my focus would be all on the tip and... It just wasn't good. I think a blunt, straight tip would have worked a lot better for me.

That being said, those who like texture in their anal play would probably love this. It's a nice length, not too thick and has that great base.

I don't like textured anal toys, though, so I was out of luck there as well.

Scrudy is usable in a harness with an appropriately sized o-ring and would probably look adorable jutting out from the body but I can't speak for its effectiveness used this way since I don't have an o-ring to fit it.

The end

Since the Scrudy is silicone, it can be washed with soap and water, boiled or bleached using a mild solution (10% bleach, 90% water). Use only water based or oil based lubes if you want to be safe, though a patch test can be done if you really, really want to try a silicone based lube.

Packaging was typical fun factory; a cardboard box, shades of grey and red and cream, with a peek-a-boo window you can see the toy thru. A pamphlet of all Fun Factory toys, a user guide and a sample of toy fluid lube were included.

Scrudy is fun to look at, probably excellent for those who like pinpoint g-spot stimulation and a lot of texture. For me, it was just kind of a dud.

For me, the texture on the Scrudy is just too spread apart and the tip too small and hooked to be much fun but, honestly, I'm in the minority and I realize this.

I SO want to like him and am disappointed every time I remember, despite his orangeness, that I do not.
