G-spot dildo discontinued
by Hardwood dildos

Simple, Earthy, Understated... and Fantastic!

I can't say enough good things about this dildo! It's quickly become one of my favorites. Silky-smooth texture, a pleasing size, and totally smooth. A must have for anyone who enjoys g-spot toys.

Pros
Great shape and size, plus it's sustainably handcrafted in the USA from reclaimed wood.
Cons
You can't boil it to sterilize. Really, that's the only con for me.

Use

Who would have thought that something that looks so simple could feel so good? I love my new hardwood dildo! It's really great for g-spot stimulation. I like this toy so much because it's perfectly smooth, without even the round ball on the end that you find on a lot of g-spot toys.

I think that anyone else who enjoys g-spot toys made from hard materials would really like this one. If you've tried glass and metal, why not give wood a shot? I know the idea may seem a little strange at first, but wood actually makes an excellent sex toy.

To be on the safe side, if you are planning to share this toy, I would recommend using condoms. The varnish on this toy should render it fairly non-porous, though I'm not sure of the specifics, or of how effective sanitizing wooden toys is. You can wash it, but you can't sterilize a wooden toy in boiling water the way you can toys made from glass, steel, or silicone. It may also be possible to use a 10% bleach solution to sanitize this toy, but as I have not personally tried it, I can't say if this degrades the varnish of the toy.

Of course, anal use is not a good idea with this toy, due to its lack of a flared base.

Material / Texture

Yes, it's made from wood, but you definitely don't need to worry about splinters with this one. The wood is hand-polished and coated in a food-safe varnish. The end result is a toy with a flawless, silky-smooth finish. It's really beautiful and well-crafted. There is absolutely no odor.

The texture is even smoother than I was expecting. It's very close to being as smooth as glass or steel. There's a tiny bit of drag, but no where near as much friction as you would get from a matte silicone toy. But wood as a toy material is subtly different. Even though it's a hard material, it somehow feels softer than glass or steel. It's a very natural feel, and it seems to me that the amount of friction may be similar to the feeling of skin. Maybe an odd comparison, but how ever you describe it, it feels pretty good.

I think the soft sensation I get from this dildo has a lot to do with the weight. Or perhaps I should say, the lack of weight. It's a very lightweight piece, but not in a cheap or flimsy way. As much as I appreciate heavier toys like the stainless steel Pure Wand, I've found that having a lightweight wood dildo is incredibly nice. It makes a great g-spot toy with none of the arm strain or maneuvering I'm used to with the Pure Wand.

Another benefit is that I don't worry about dropping this one. It certainly won't break like a glass wand might, and I don't worry that I might chip the sink while washing it like I do with the Pure Wand.

Design / Shape / Size

The shape of this one looks so simple, yet it works so beautifully. It has a straight shaft, with a tip that widens gently and curves to form a full, rounded end. If you're like me, and you don't like a lot of texture on your toys, you'll love this one. It doesn't have an extreme curve, but it seemed to do an excellent job of going right to my g-spot. I think the combination of the curve and girth works out really well for me.

At one-and-a-half inches in diameter at its widest end, this is a moderately girthy toy. It does a good job of direct g-spot stimulation while still feeling really filling, which is something that's lacking in some of the other g-spot toys I own. Many of them have a wide head, but then quickly narrow to a thin shaft, which is good for precise g-spot targeting yet can sometimes feel unsatisfying. The big difference here is that this wooden dildo doesn't have any sort of protrusion or ball shape on the end, like you find on the Pure Wand or a lot of glass dildos. It's also comparable to the Fun Factory Curve, since the diameter is very similar, but without the bump on the end that bothers so many people. I found that the smoothness was really a great change for me. If you've ever found that a toy seems to get caught around your pubic bone, or just stuck up above your muscles when you're using it, you should definitely give a dildo with a completely smooth end a shot. I found that this toy was excellent for thrusting, since there was absolutely nothing to get caught and no bumps to irritate me. As always with hard toys, thrust with caution, especially if you know you have a cervix that sits lower down, or you're using this dildo with a partner.

Because of the size and price, I'd recommend this one for users who already know that they like g-spot stimulation and want something slightly thicker than average. If you've already tried other common g-spot toys, this is a great one to add to your collection!

Performance

I really like my glass and steel toys, but one thing I don't like about them is the temperature factor. I'm not really into temperature play, and ideally I like my toys to be warmed up to body temp or maybe a bit warmer. Unfortunately, I'm also a lazy masturbator, and I rarely bother to do this and instead suffer through a chilly dildo. But with wood, I don't even have to worry about this! Wood doesn't retain cold or heat the way other hard materials do, so I get a pleasingly neutral temperature toy with no effort on my part.

Care and Maintenance

Wood is pretty easy to take care of. You can use any lube you like, although I found that the texture was smooth enough that I didn't need one. Clean up with a mild soap and water, and don't leave it soaking in water for any amount of time. Don't even think about boiling water or the dishwasher for this dildo. As I mentioned above, a 10% bleach solution may also be an option, though try this one at your own risk as I have not personally used this method to clean my toy.

My dildo came in a cute purple velvet bag that's nice and handy for storage. Wood won't attract lint or react with anything, so your storage options pretty much come down to your personal preference. And because it's so lightweight, you can chuck it in with some other toys and not worry about breaking anything.

Personal comments

I wish there was a little more info listed on the EdenFantasys product page about the source of this dildo, because it's kind of cool. Luckily, I did some research for all of you. Unlike a lot of wooden dildos that are turned on a lathe, making them straight and symmetrical, this dildo was carved by hand, giving it the unique curved g-spot end. These Hardwood Dildos are made by an Oregon-based artisan named Hans. As far as I can tell, all or most of the wood used for the dildos comes from sustainably harvested trees, meaning trees that have blown down in storms or other scrap wood that would otherwise go to waste. Pretty cool, right? I like supporting artisans and small businesses. This is a purchase you can feel good about. (In more ways than one of course!)
