To be on the safe side, if you are planning to share this toy, I would recommend using condoms. The varnish on this toy should render it fairly non-porous, though I'm not sure of the specifics, or of how effective sanitizing wooden toys is. Yes, it's made from wood, but you definitely don't need to worry about splinters with this one. The wood is hand-polished and coated in a food-safe varnish. The end result is a toy with a flawless, silky-smooth finish. It's really beautiful and well-crafted. There is absolutely no odor.

The texture is even smoother than I was expecting. It's very close to being as smooth as glass or steel. There's a tiny bit of drag, but no where near as much friction as you would get from a matte silicone toy. But wood as a toy material is subtly different.
