The dildo that'll wind its way into your heart.

Sleek, glossy, and boldly textured; the Pink Swirl may be just the pattern your body's been waiting to feel. You can use whichever end you choose, and with just a bit of lube you're sure to relish the sensations. The solid Pink Swirl excels at thrusting and rocking, and when you're through, cleanup's a snap.

Use

The Pink Swirl is as useful as it is attractive. Providing a stimulating insertion, two contrasting dense heads to please the g-spot and the back wall of the vagina, and intense texture for thrusting, swirling, or gentle rocking, the Pink Swirl will sate any texture lover's cravings.

Solo use is wonderful, but feeling a partner wield such an intensely coiled tool can be wonderful as well. If your partner is controlling thrusting, be sure a fist is made around the base of the shaft to prevent striking the cervix.

Someone desiring only shallow anal stimulation could use this anally, as the underside of the mushroom cap provides a flare. However, there are many toys with similar texture and more pronounced bases, and I would recommend selecting a toy explicitly designed for anal stimulation if that's your chief desire.

Material / Texture

Borosilicate glass is a wonderful material. It's odorless, body-safe, hypoallergenic, compatible with all lubricants, and easy to sterilize. It also resists damage due to impact and temperature shock better than traditional glass (avoid the freezer, rapid temperature changes, and dropping in hard sinks to be on the safe side). Speaking of temperature changes, if you run your Pink Swirl under hot or cold tap-water, it will hold its temperature while you begin to enjoy it. Glass is firm and unyielding, so you will be able to apply pressure, squeeze your muscles around the Pink Swirl, and feel each inch of texture as you slide this dildo in.

The Pink Swirl's texture is spiraled from below the glans to the double-bubbled handle. The spirals are raised about ~4mm above the shaft, so this is a texture you'll really feel. It's marvelous along the inside walls of my vagina, but is too strongly textured for me to enjoy anally. Your mileage may vary, depending on your sensitivity. If you're looking to try out the spiral texture, the Pink Swirl is a beautiful and affordable choice.

To help out those of us who are trying to learn which textures we like best, I'd like to share my 'texture intensity' chart (least intense to most intense). A '+' after a name indicates a product I have personally tried; other products I'm basing my assumptions on reviews and pictures.

Design / Shape / Size

The Pink Swirl is designed as a double-ended dildo, with one mushroom tip end and one 'double bubble' end. The shaft is spiraled completely for stimulating texture along the vagina no matter which tip you prefer. The Pink Swirl's shaft is 2cm in diameter, and the spiral raises the diameter you feel to ~2.4 cm. Because this dildo has no g-spot curve, I enjoyed it most as a thrusting toy. I was able to angle it to stimulate my g-spot as well, but for me, g-spotting distracted me from experiencing the pleasure of the texture of the shaft.

While the dildo is 18.5cm tall in total, you will be able to thrust with between 13cm and 15.2cm. If you prefer the smooth, vagina-massaging double bubble end, 15.2cm are insertable. The largest bulb diameter of the double bubble end is 3cm. If the spine-tingling pop of the mushroom tip pleases you, you'll have 13 cm to insert, and 3.4cm diameter at the widest part of the tip.

With all hand made toys, some variance from the photographs is to be expected, and the Pink Swirl is no exception. My Pink Swirl actually has a different tip style from the demo, shown here.

I'm not sure whether the design has been slightly modified since these pictures were taken, or I simply received an outlier. The insertion and removal of a mushroom tip toy yield a satisfying 'pop'- this pop will have some sighing with pleasure and others reaching for the lube, so relax before using a mushroom tipped Pink Swirl if you're not sure which group of women you are in.

The Pink Swirl is a lovely shade of soft pink (the rainbow aliasing in the photo above is a result of my LCD computer screen and poor-quality camera). The futuristic design is softened by the blush-pink color, and the dildo's glassy smoothness and simple form combine to create a lovely look.

Performance

The Pink Swirl's namesake spiral boldly declares its presence as you thrust or rock this glass sculpture. It is not curved for dedicated g-spot play, but in its straightness lies its strength. Each of its ends can be enjoyed equally. Most importantly, this dildo will make sure that you appreciate every inch of the inside of your vagina. I enjoyed 'see-sawing' the Pink Swirl, putting pressure on my g-spot and on the rear wall of my vagina by turns. Swirling and steady thrusting were pleasant as well, and with a bit of manual clit stimulation I was in the throes of orgasm in no time.

Without a curve, the Pink Swirl may seem basic- but we can learn a lot about the responses of our bodies by going back to basics. This dildo specializes in that kind of exploration, while keeping things interesting with the bold texture and pronounced ends.

Care and Maintenance

Glass couldn't be easier to care for. Between uses, clean with hot water and mild soap. When switching partners, or when switching from anal to vaginal use, your Pink Swirl should be sterilized to prevent introducing foreign bacteria. To sterilize, boil for three minutes, wipe with a 10% bleach solution, or run the dildo through a soapless cycle on the top rack of your dishwasher.

Because even borosilicate glass can chip on impact, I line my sink with a washcloth when I'm cleaning my Pink Swirl. It takes only common sense to maintain the Pink Swirl in top condition. Don't drop it onto tile, don't pull it from boiling water and put it directly into the freezer, don't microwave it, and this durable dildo will last a lifetime.

Packaging

The thin velour pouch with a nylon drawstring that the Pink Swirl arrives in will keep your toy safe from gentle clinks with nearby toys. If you plan to travel with your dildo, though, or you're known to slam your drawers, think about getting a padded pouch. Just a note, this dildo did not arrive in the black/pink satin bag pictured. Instead it came in the maroon velour pouch shown on other SSA Glass product pages.

Personal comments

I'm fairly experienced with texture in dildos, and I found the Pink Swirl's spirals to be wonderful. The very pronounced mushroom tipped head was a bit intense for me, though, and I bought my first-ever bottle of lube to get past it. With a few drops of silicone lube, I was impressed with the slippery silky feel of the Pink Swirl gliding inside me. I would recommend that even you ladies who feel you're "too wet to need lube" (hey- I was one until yesterday!) go out and try a bottle. There's another layer to sensation that you're missing out on.

The bulbed double-bubble end was a success both with and without lube, and I really enjoyed alternating pressure between my g-spot and my vaginal back wall.
Follow-up commentary
The Pink Swirl hasn't changed one bit since I reviewed it, but my tastes have expanded considerably. While this swirl still feels lovely, I have others---one has a head that I prefer to the mushroom tip of my Pink Swirl, and the Bumpy Spiral Double Dong gets more use because I can switch textures on a whim.

The glass has held up wonderfully, though, and while some of my clear SSA glass pieces have gotten some scratches, I think this pink glass is quite scratch-resistant. I do still reach for my Pink Swirl when I want a straight dildo to thrust with, but that's just not very often anymore. This is still a great first step for a pink lover who wants to check out what swirled glass has to offer!

I guess because they're handmade, there's going to be a small amount of variation from dildo to dildo. Maybe you have the first one that the sculptor made that day, maybe you have the last one?

That's weird that it didn't look exactly the same. I like the pic online better... Hmm...

I kind of thought so too, Violet Moonstone, but that's what you get when you ask for handmade items at very low cost, I guess. I still like it well enough, too.

Excellent review! I am going back and forth between the Bumpy Spiral & the Pink Swirl. Your follow up review seems to suggest you prefer the Bumpy Spiral? Which would you recommend for a complete beginner to glass? Thanks!

Awesome review! I was going back through your reviews after reading your rocky road review, and I was just wondering how you think the Rocky Road compares to some of the other glass you have tried, this this one?
  • Contributor: Antipova
I prefer the Rocky Road to the Pink Swirl. I think the lattice (Gold Laced G) is my favorite texture, and bumps are my second-favorite texture. The spiral, to me at least, just has too much blank space between the texture, and it's just a little less pleasant for thrusting. Also, if the spiral wasn't applied evenly, it gets even more confusing, whereas if bumps aren't applied evenly my vagina doesn't really notice. So they're a more forgiving texture.
