Would be perfect if it was just harder...

This dildo was kind of a disappointment. It has a lot of great things about it like the suction cup, it's latex free, phthalate free, hypoallergenic, and has a realistic design, but is way too squishy to have a good time.

I wanted to play around with suction cup dildos because they always seemed like so much fun, so of course I got on Eden and looked around. I saw a few mixed reviews of the Basix dildo, but the overall rating of four out of five stars convinced me to purchase it anyway and give it a try. The dildo came in the mail (no pun intended) within four days of my order by UPS. The quick ship out and delivery always impresses me.

The dildo comes in traditional clam shell packaging, sealed for your protection. It is made of phthalate and latex free rubber, so those that have a latex allergy do not have to be wary of this toy. Since it is made of rubber, of course if someone shares the toy or uses it for both anal and vaginal penetration, they should definitely use a toy cover or condom. Also, it is water based lubricant compatible. I was impressed upon taking it out of the packaging at how realistic the design of the dildo is. Upon examining the toy, you can see various sizes of veins in the design. I appreciate that the size of the veins varies, as some toys that are labeled as veined tend to be too raised or too large to be considered realistic. The skin of the dildo is also very soft, not quite skin like, but soft enough to be close to the real thing. It does, however, have an odd sort of lacquer on the head of the dildo that makes parts of it seem shinier than the rest. This appears to be for easier insertion of the toy, but it could be a manufacturing error.

When you grasp your hand around the dildo, it is very squishy. Most toys are at least a little bit squishy for flexibility's sake, but this one is a little bit too squishy. However, this didn't faze me in trying it out initially, because the dildo upon first grasp seems hard enough to play with. I would find out later that the density of the dildo is a problem. The dildo has an interesting smell for a rubber toy, a sweet, powdery scent. It isn't really a bad smell, just kind of weird considering what the toy is made out of. The dildo is very flexible due to the before mentioned squishy texture, which makes different positions of play possible.

The suction cup is very convenient, and works very well. When I got it in the mail and opened it up, my friend and I actually stuck it to numerous surfaces of the house to test it out (we're silly and curious). Some to mention include a coffee table, a wall, a mirror, and a window. The suction cup works great! At one point I even put the dildo upside down on a wall and hung a small bag on it, and it actually stayed stuck!

When I actually got around to trying the toy out, I had difficulty upon insertion due to the squishy texture of the toy. However, if you are already very wet or use a water based lubricant on the toy, it slides in easier. I'm honestly not sure how it would work for anal play due to the density of the toy. On one hand, I think it might work well because it is flexible and the balls provide a flared base so it won't get lost. For anal beginners, the softer texture could be nice to gently accommodate any tightness.
