iTap G-vibe - g-spot vibrator by Cal Exotics - review by markeagleone

OK, this is the third piece in the I-Tap collection that my wife has acquired. I have previously reviewed the Vibe and the bullet. I don't know what happened, but she managed to order pink instead of her beloved purple. I'm sure she will get the right color to complete her collection in the near future. On to the review:

The I-Tap G-vibe is a product by Cal Exotics. It is one part of a four part line. It comes in lavender, pink, and white. It is based on the traditional vibrators. It has only one function, it vibrates. That being said, there are different variations of the vibration.

This toy is not designed for anal play. There is no flared base to it. It can be used for solo play, as well as couples. It can stimulate the clitoris, labia, nipples, and give an all over body massage. It can be used to stimulate the male scrotum and also the perineum. Its major purpose, however, is the G-Spot. It worked well for all the uses we have put it through.

The only drawback is that it is not waterproof. It should not be submerged, so don't try taking this one for a swim. I'll touch on that a bit later.

This line of toys are made from velvet cote and ABS plastic. This is a polyurethane coating that has been placed on the ABS plastic.It is both latex and phthalate free. It is also Hypo-allergenic, so anyone should be able to use this without a problem.

There is no seams on the shaft of this toy. It is completely smooth in texture. The one thing about this material is, even though the shaft is completely hard and ridged, it feels so soft to the touch. It offers very little resistance to being rubbed on the skins surface. It truly is a remarkable material. There is also no smell with the material.

This particular toy can be used by beginners and the more experienced user. I do believe it is more towards the beginner in vibration strength and functions, but anyone that can step back to the simpler things will enjoy this toy.

The i-Tap G-Spot vibrator is 7 3/8 inches long. It has a diameter of 1 inch. It has an insertable length of 6 inches(base to tip). The control handle/battery cover is 1 3/8 inches long. The tip of the toy goes off the base at a 90 degree angle and is 1/2 inch in length.

The battery/controller base has the 6 valleys and ridges for your finger to rest on while using this toy.

The soft, but ridged body can be used for external stimulation with or without lube. It is also good at giving the all over body massage without changing toys to go to the playtime mode. The tip works great at alleviating muscle strains and for an all over body relaxation feeling.

This toy is the right size for beginners. At a 1 inch diameter, it is not too intimidating of a toy for playtime. It also fits about three quarters of the way up in the power of the vibrations(compared to others we have tried).

I would not recommend travel on a plane with this one. Its size and shape are a given, as to what this is. It should, however, fit in most purses or suitcases.

The control for this toy is located on the end of the base. It uses a simple touch to control the on/off and the variations of the vibrations. The one drawback to the i-Tap line is that the controls can easily, be accidentally, changed. It does not require any pressure to alter the function of the toy.

The vibrations for this toy are located near the tip. This provides great stimulating ability to where it is needed. The toy does have a hard inner shell, so the vibrations easily transfer down the entire length of the toy.

The I-Tap series has five different types of vibrations. These are:

1-Low
2-High
3-2 low pulses then a continuous high for approximately 3 seconds
4-Continuous pulsing high
5-Low to zero continuous pulse

Again, the noise ranges from a battery operated shaver on low, to an electric shaver on high. It would be able to be heard under a blanket and on high, through a hollow door. Music or the television drowned the noise out fairly easily.

Now, on to the water part. Since this toy is not to be submerged, and this isn't my wife's favorite color, I thought I would give it a try. I would only be a bit killed if it died, instead of being tore apart. Yes, I put the vibe in water. All I noticed was that the vibration control went haywire. Not for the intrusion of water, but the contact with the touch spot. Now, in no way am I saying take yours for a swim, but a shower would be fine. Keep in mind, do not let the water hit the touch surface, or you will experience what this one does with a brain fart.-P.S. Don't tell the wife. She normally doesn't read what I write!

Care and maintenance are pretty simple. This toy requires two AA batteries. Keep spares on hand and remove the batteries if you are storing for any period of time.

This toy is compatible with water and silicone based lubes. Do not boil this one! It can be cleaned with soap and water. You can also use a toy cleaner or alcohol, if needed. Wear a condom, if you share. I recommend not to share!

There is no real special needs for storage. We keep ours in the original packaging. I would keep it away from toys that do tend to melt or transfer material. It's not really a dust or lint collector, either.

The packaging for this toy is simple. It is a box with no plastic tray. the box is 2 7/8 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches deep and 7 1/4 inches tall. It also has a 3/4 inch flap at the top for a hook.

The box is not discreet. It shows a picture of the toy on the front, back, and one side. It states,"Tap me, I vibrate. Tap me twice, I pulsate!". It gives the website for product registration, lists that it has 5 functions.

The side panel states that it is from California Exotic Novelties and is made in China. It says not to immerse, product material, wash before and after each use, remove batteries, and to use a rubber compatible lubricant.

There is also a small battery instructional paper inside, which also states to not touch the end touch point when installing the batteries. If you do, it will not operate and you must remove and reinstall the cover.

Yes, my wife wants the full line of i-Tap products. Unfortunately, she ordered this in the wrong color. I suspect she will be ordering another one, quite soon. Yes, she blames me. I don't know, maybe I was bugging her at the time.

This made, at least in my eyes, a candidate for my underwater torture test. I saw that it does have an o-ring on the battery cover threads, so why not?

This traditional style G-Spot vibrator did push all the right buttons. It is also great at the full body massage, due to the fact that the tip is angled and a bit easier to control for that purpose. The only thing we used lube on was when it was time to get down to business. The material is soft and offers very minimal friction on the skin.

On to my wife's thoughts(If she blames me, don't pay attention!):

I am not sure what happened, but somehow I ended up with the pink version and not the purple. I blame my husband for this, he sabotaged my mission of getting "All Things i-Tap in purple". (Be sure to stay tuned for his upcoming messed up mission with cock rings! I think it could be named "The Circus is Coming to the Bedroom")

The i-Tap G-Vibe is almost identical to the i-Tap Traditional Vibe, the obvious exception is that the G-Vibe has a curve at the tip. I have always loved the material that this vibe is made from, the silky softness of it always excites me. The advantage of this i-Tap G-Vibe is that for clitorial play, you can have exact accuracy because of the curved tip.

I enjoyed the "bulls-eye" accuracy in both clitorial play and for my g-spot stimulation. Since, we used lubrication with this, I felt no dragging or pulling while it was being inserted or during any movement of the toy. I have also used this without lubrication and had similar results in not feeling any grabbing.

I seemed to enjoy this i-Tap G-Vibe on the first two settings the most, especially for clitoral. The other setting were enjoyable, but I did not prefer them.

I would recommend this product for beginners, because it is not intimidating. The more advanced users may enjoy the technology of this toy and also the "bulls-eye" accuracy it provides.

I have noticed that a few hours after my husband drowned it, it has a odd smell. It is a cross between "smoldering tires after being burned" and "singed plastic". It is really offensive to my nose. This poor thing also is now stuck on "high-vibration" setting, I did not leave it on long because of the smell it is emitting.

This G-Vibe will be replaced by a new PURPLE one, so this one is going to receive its last rights and be buried after I finish typing. Rest in Peace, poor Pink G-Vibe. Hallelujah to ordering my PURPLE G-Vibe! Amen.

OK this is me again. I got busted. I a unsure of what happened, since no water entered the controller or base. Lucky me, I get to tear it apart! My thought was the erratic nature under water caused the control to over-heat. Odd that it worked fine when I dried it off and retested it before putting it away. It's not a loss, though. It's lucky for me it died, or as she completes her purple collection, she may have wanted to start a pink one!
