I bought these to see if I'd find the courage to use them, before investing in a more expensive option. I'm extremely paranoid about my privacy when using sex toys, so I feared I'd never be able to use any kind of vaginal balls without stressing out the entire time. These let me test my own comfort limits before making another purchase, and they served that purpose well enough. They're serviceable Kegel exercisers, and whether they'll provide any kind of a naughty thrill if used in public depends more on the user's feelings on the matter than on the actual function of the product. What they won't do is directly cause an orgasm -- if you want that kind of toy, buy a remote control egg or some kind of strap-on vibrator.

The balls are hard, smooth plastic, with a nylon cord. They don't have any particular odor, and they feel intriguingly heavy in your hand. The inner ball is metal of some kind, and it makes quite a bit of noise rolling around inside the plastic, which is muffled sufficiently once the balls are inserted. My biggest complaint with most California Exotics products is the packaging, which tends to feature scantily clad models. That was the case with this package, although due to its size it was easier to throw away than some, and the plastic portion could at least be recycled.
