Use

The Curve is a clitoral vibrator from the Love Candy by Kendra line by Evolved Novelties. The Curve accurately describes the shape of this compact, ergonomic vibrator, which is relatively flat and rounded to fit nicely in the hand as well as nestle comfortably into the curves of the body. Reminiscent in design to the shape of a tongue, this vibrator was designed for clitoral stimulation and that is its best use. It can also be used for foreplay to stimulate any external area. Because of the shape of this vibrator, it's not really suitable for internal use, either vaginally or anally, though you could use it to stimulate the vaginal opening or for very shallow penetration using just the very tip.

The Curve can be used when flying solo or with a partner, and its slim shape makes it ideal for use during intercourse because it isn't very likely to get in the way. This toy is waterproof, so feel free to use it in the bath or shower.

Material / Texture

The Curve is made from 100% silicone with a plastic inner core and a plastic battery compartment. The silicone is matte in texture and has quite a bit of drag. It is not matte in a velvety way, like many Leaf of Tantus's regular silicone toys, nor is it slick like We Vibe's silicone toys. The closest comparison I can come up with is the outer layer on Tantus's O2 line. Its texture is almost rubbery feeling.

There are several long ridges along the backside of the curve. These don't really add anything since that wouldn't be the part you placed on your body. There are also three little numbs at the tip of this toy, which do provide a little extra stimulation. Otherwise, the rest of the body of this toy is smooth.

The toy is also totally rigid due to the plastic inner core. No part of it bends or flexes at all.

Design / Shape / Size

The curve is 4 1/4" long and approximately 3" wide. It's relatively small and slender, making it a good option for travel. The design is gently curved and fits very comfortably in the hand, allowing the fingertips to sit on top of the tip, allowing you to apply pressure. The width of the toy means that you will grip the toy on the sides and bottom with the remaining fingers, making it a design that is comfortable to hold.

The low-profile, curved design means it could easily be slipped into a pair of panties if you wanted and ideally worn underneath loose-fitting clothing.

This vibrator is completely non-phallic in design, so if you are looking for a vibrator that doesn't look like a penis, this certainly fits the bill. It is not, however, discreet in appearance. I believe that if you left this lying around and someone found it, they would know what its intended purpose is.

The design is really where this vibrator shines. It should comfortably fit the curves of most women's vulvas, and perhaps even be used as a hands-free toy. The curved design can also add interest for stimulating nipples, testicles, necks, hip bones, thighs, and any other curved areas.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Curve is powered by two AAA batteries, which slide into a battery compartment on the base of the toy. The battery compartment can be a little tricky to get open and closed, so make sure to put a little muscle into it.

There's a button on each side of the battery compartment. One is a power button, which simply turns the toy on and off. The other button scrolls through the different settings and patterns that the toy offers.

There are ten total settings, and three of them are straight vibrations. The vibration strength ranges from 1 vroom on the lowest setting to about 2 vrooms on the highest. The other seven settings are various patterns, mixing short and long pulses of varying speeds.

The vibrations in this toy are more on the buzzy, high-pitched side, and they sound this way as well. The motor seems to be near the very base of the toy, by the battery compartment, and the vibrations are very soft in the tip. Though this toy has a tip, because the vibrations do not carry very well to it, it is better for broad stimulation rather than pinpointed.

The vibrations are also not as strong as many vibrators, so practically speaking, most would only be able to use this for teasing rather than getting off.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is very simple to care for. To clean it, warm water and mild soap work just fine. You could also use a 10% bleach solution, toy cleaner, or toy wipes. You should not boil it because it has electrical components as well as plastic, which would melt.

Water-based lubricants should be used with this toy, as silicone-containing lubricants may permanently damage it.

You should not store it next to other silicone-containing toys unless you have verified that they are pure, high-quality 100% silicone. Storing this in its included case is ideal.

Packaging

One of the most impressive features of this is the packaging. It comes with a faux leather case with a magnetic closure, which stores the toy when not in use and would be great to travel with, as it would prevent buttons from being pushed while in a suitcase. There is an inner tray that is molded to fit the toy, which holds it securely in place. The only disposable packaging is a cardboard sleeve which has the name and image of the toy. This outer sleeve is recyclable. Without the cardboard sleeve, the packaging is very discreet. Unless it was opened, no one would suspect that this little case held a vibrator inside.

Experience

I am not a power queen by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, I have found toys whose lowest setting is too high for me. I can get off with the one-speed bullet that comes with some dildos. I am generally a person that works up to a max of 3 vrooms. That being said, there was no way this toy was going to get the job done for me. It's simply too weak and too buzzy.

It's disappointing, because the design is really cool, and I was really excited to review this. Though I do think that some might find this effective for teasing, it's really kind of expensive for something to just tease you. I wish it was just a little more rumbly and had at least one more vroom. I would be raving about this vibrator if that were the case, but two buzzy vrooms just won't do the trick for most, so I can't give it more than two stars, since it won't actually be useful for most. I hope Evolved takes this one back to the drawing board, makes it a little easier to open and close, and puts a stronger and less buzzy motor in it.
