Roulette Straight up - traditional vibrator discontinued by Evolved Novelties - review by sacrilege

The Roulette Straight up has strong vibrations and good girth, works well for clitoral stimulation as well as vaginal insertion, is pretty and functional, and has a wide range of intensities.

The strong vibrations combined with the girth and ridges results in a very intense experience, without too much noise. The vibrations carry well throughout the length of the vibrator, making the tip very pleasant for clitoral stimulation. The wheel makes adjusting the intensity during use very easy for both me and my partner. No more fumbling with little buttons! The handle is big enough to get a decent grip on, and I've never had any issues with accidentally moving the wheel and changing the intensity.

It's made out of silicone and is waterproof, so it's very easy to clean. It's a bit noisy, but not enough to carry through walls.

Made of silicone, the Roulette is soft, smooth, non-porous, hypoallergenic, and very easy to clean. The middle ridges are quite intense, but are supple. If you're not a fan of ridges, this probably isn't the vibe for you, but, if you're a fan, it doesn't get much better than this.

There's a slight odor if you're looking for it (and when it's right out of the box), but it is completely tasteless.

The design isn't revolutionary, but there's a certain attention to details that makes the Roulette very worthwhile. The wheel is big and easy to use, but is recessed so it's not accidentally adjusted. The vibrations carry well throughout and have a wide range, making it great for both vaginal insertion and clitoral stimulation. When used on the clitoris, the unused length makes a great handle and it slides smoothly (with just the right amount of friction) over the clitoris and clitoral hood with just a little lubrication. When used vaginally, the slow widening from tip to handle stretches the vagina comfortably and easily, and leaves plenty of room to get a good grip. The fact that it's bendable, waterproof, and hypoallergenic are all little details that aren't strictly necessary, but are very much appreciated.

If you're just going to get one vibe, I would suggest this one because it's so versatile and easy to use.

The highest intensity is quite satisfying, while the lower settings are good for warming-up and for use on the clitoris. It can be somewhat noisy, but, unless you're trying to secretly use it in the same room as someone else, it's not a problem.

I can't say enough good things about the wheel. It's very easy to adjust the intensity, even when it's inside of you or a partner. It doesn't accidentally get adjusted. And although it doesn't automatically do different patterns or frequencies, the wheel glides so easily that moving it back and forth, creating your own patterns, is easy.

Because the insertable portion is silicone and is completely waterproof, it's very easy to clean. Warm water and antibacterial soap works well. Toy cleaner also works well. Because it's silicone, you want to make sure you're only using water-based lubes because silicone- or oil-based lubes will ruin your fabulous new toy.

The only problem I can see with cleaning the Roulette is if you get fluids in the wheel portion of the toy, which I haven't personally had a problem with, but is certainly possible.

It comes in a nice hard plastic case, so keep it in that (or wrap in a cloth) so it doesn't touch other silicone toys you may have.

The Roulette comes in a pretty, hard, plastic case. It's a bit unnecessarily large, but it's good for storing the vibrator. Because it is clear plastic and because of its size, it's not very discreet, though. If traveling, just leave the case at home and wrap the toy in a cloth.
