System JO H2O personal lubricant for women is a quality water based lube for when you need some extra slickness during intercourse. I don't have much experience with lubes, only ever having used KY jelly. I always hated the goopy consistency of the jelly, but it was what I was used to. I decided that I needed to try something different, and lucky for me there was a whole list of new JO products up for review. Now, this particular line of Jo products is being marketed towards women. The bottle says it's "formulated specially for women" but doesn't really say why. I think it may have safer ingredients than some lubes, but it does contain parabens and glycerin, so it may still cause skin irritation in some.

As for use other than intercourse, I don't think it would be good for massage as it gets tacky when it starts to dry, and doesn't really absorb well into the skin. I have been wary of trying anal penetration again, so I didn't try this lube anally. It is good and slick and should be okay if you wanted to use it in that way. As for oral, I didn't specifically use it for that purpose either, but when some made it's way into my mouth I wasn't running for the bathroom to rinse my mouth. It isn't flavored, but it does have a taste. While it isn't pleasing, it isn't gag inducing either, for me at least.

The texture of this lube is smooth and silky. It can be a little runny, but this may be because I am used to jelly as opposed to something more liquid. The pump on the bottle dispenses the product nicely. Had it had a flip top I could see it getting messy and running all over if you weren't careful. The pump makes it easy to put it where you want it. It feels great and you don't need a whole lot of it to get things nice and slick. As for it staying in place, that depends. If you pump it out and just let it sit, it will start to run down by force of gravity. Once you rub it in though and spread it around a bit, it's fine. It doesn't feel greasy or sticky, but if it starts to dry out, it will become a bit tacky. You could either reapply the lube or reactivate with some water.

There really isn't much of a smell to this product, but there is a slight "lube" smell. I don't know what else to compare it to really. It's not a strong smell at all and it isn't unpleasant in anyway. The taste as stated above, is minimal. If you want something that is good tasting, you might want to look for a flavored lube.

I found this lube lasted during a normal play session of about 15 minutes. Longer sessions though, especially with silicone or rubber, needed reapplication or "reactivation" with a little water. For some women, you natural juices should help compensate. If you have a problem with dryness as I do, I would keep a squirt bottle filled with water or a wet wash cloth handy, especially when playing with toys that have some drag and can cause friction like rubber or some silicones.

I found that once the lube dried, it could become a bit tacky. I wouldn't necessarily say sticky, but you can feel it on there. I had to wash it off, but that's just me. Clean up is easy, as it is a water based lube. Enough water will just wash it away. I found I didn't have to get out the soap and scrub it off, but just use water to rinse it off. It doesn't hold up to bath tub play because it just rinses away so easily, but it is safe to use with all of your toys.

Overall, I think this a great quality lube. However, I don't have a lot of experience with lube. It is definitely better than KY jelly, so it gets a thumbs up from me. I don't quite understand why it's made specifically for women, but whatever. I like it. Still, it only makes me more curious to see what other lubes are like. I bought some flavored System JO that isn't marketed towards women, so I guess I will be able to compare the two in my follow up review.
