Great vibe, horrible battery compartment...

I love the vibrations and feel of this toy, but I will be upgrading to Lelo at some point as PicoBong (Lelo's subsidiary) uses horrible battery compartments.

Use

The Zizo is a g-spot vibrator, whose end works wonders on the clit. There are 12 patterns and 6 vibrational intensities, or speeds, available to choose from. Sometimes it is nice to use a lower setting, teasing the user until they can hardly stand not to come, and then max out the speed finally allowing them to enjoy orgasm.

While it is being sold as waterproof, I honestly would not trust this toy enough to ever take it into a shower. Unfortunately, the battery compartment sucks horribly. It does not actually screw shut like most toys do, however has a few tiny areas that slide into place to supposedly keep the battery compartment closed. In my experience, it does not stay closed well at all. For example, while trying to wash and dry the toy, I had the compartment open a few times (luckily no water got in). I have found that if you even slightly bump the compartment in the wrong way it jars it enough to open it, leaving the lid to fall. This is also an issue while using the product. I have learned to hold low enough on the toy while using it to not bump the lid or even the controls at all. Imagine the annoyance of having found the vibrational pattern/function and intensity/speed you want, being ready to come, and then suddenly having the unit shut off as you bumped a control or the lid to the battery compartment. Trust me, it sucks.

While I thoroughly enjoy the settings and overall design of this toy, due to the battery compartment, I would have to recommend skipping it. Pay the extra money and upgrade to Lelo. PicoBong may be a subsidiary of Lelo, but Lelo uses rechargeable batteries, whereas PicoBong does not. While the Lelo equivalents have a little less in the way of variation, I am planning to upgrade mine at some point, due to the fact that Lelo uses the rechargeable battery not a battery compartment, and that they are virtually the same products otherwise. I would suggest you spend the extra money and either buy the Lelo Liv 2 (with 8 vibrational patterns) or the Lelo Elise 2 (with 10 vibrational patterns).

Material / Texture

The vibrator is made of silicone with some plastic for the battery compartment. It has a very soft, smooth, nice texture. Silicone is one of my favorite, if not possibly my favorite materials. It is scent free and I did not attempt to taste it. I would say that, minus the battery compartment, it is great for both beginners and experienced users.

Design / Shape / Size

The Zizo works great for solo or partner play. She is designed to work on the g-spot or the clit, which is nice. She feels wonderful and has an awesome curved design. The vibrator itself isn't entirely round, which is a bit strange, but still, feels nice. She feels very smooth and sleek. She has a diameter of 1.25 inches and is insertable up to 6 inches. The Zizo is not discreet in appearance, but is easy enough to hide. The vibrations feel great, work well, and are fairly quiet. With a little light music on and the Zizo at full strength, under a blanket or two, I don't think it would be heard outside of a small room. I see no reason to think she would be an issue to take with you for traveling, simply take the batteries out first to prevent any unwanted "accidents", such as it turning on in your overnight bag.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Zizo uses 3 controls. The top one increases the intensity, the bottom one decreases the intensity and shuts the vibrator off, and the middle one turns the vibrator on, and switches the vibrational patterns/functions. To turn the toy on, hold the top button for approximately 3 seconds. To turn it off, press the bottom button and she will shut off once you have turned the intensity down and can no longer feel it vibrating at all.

Once again, I would NOT use the Zizo in water, even though PicoBong claims she is waterproof. The battery compartment falls off far to easily to be trustworthy in water.
    • Battery guzzler
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

Silicone is very easy to care for, but you do need to watch out that you don't let it come in contact with anything else silicone, such as silicone based lube. Silicone toys will melt/gum up if used with other silicone items. Being "waterproof" - I VERY CAREFULLY wash the Zizo with mild soap and water. The battery compartment is, in my experience with the Zizo, too unreliable to even consider letting her be near water for long or without using the outmost care.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The Zizo arrives in a white box with half of the front of the cardboard box being clear plastic. The box is anything but discreet, though I find it much nicer than say when my toys arrive in essentially a clear plastic wrap.
    • Not discreet

Follow-up commentary
I still dislike the battery compartment, but I am learning to deal with that while using it in bed. I won't take it into the tub with me, but it works well when I'm in bed, and the vibrations are still nice. The battery life isn't as bad as some of the other toys I've had either. I'm getting another PicoBong simply because I couldn't afford the Lelo version, so with any luck the battery compartment will be better - maybe this one was just a fluke.

Thanks for the detailed review. This item seems to be very similar to the Infinity Rechargeable Vibe.

Thank you for your feedback on my review. I've been trying to make sure I use a lot of detail in my reviews and I hate that so many people neglect to mention how horrible the batter compartment is. I thought that people should know before purchasing it that they should be very careful with it and avoid using it around much water. I know that PicoBong is a subsidiary of Lelo so I tried to only include Lelo's vibes as similar ones, I would expect the vibe patterns and strengths to be similar, however several other higher end companies seem to make similar products. Thanks again.

Yea, thank you SO MUCH for warning about the battery compartment. I wish more people would. That would be a deal-breaker for me.

You're welcome. I wish the battery compartment were better too! I still like the toy, but I hate that the compartment comes off so easily.
