Greens Are Good For You

Bloom is the most unique sex toy I've ever had. It's so cute in design and is multi-functional as well. Both ends of Bloom have vibrating motors in it. Bloom can be used for internal g-spot stimulation or externally on the clit, nipples, or wherever else you want. It's also waterproof. I love the packaging it comes in. It's great for a gift and just really matches the product. I like that the manufacturers put a lot into the appearance of their products.

Use

Bloom is by far the most unique sex toy I've ever held in my hands. The shape is of a beautiful blooming bud about to open up. Both the handle and the large tip have a vibrating motor in them which are controlled by separate buttons. Bloom is also rechargeable.

There are a few ways Bloom can be used. Since both ends of the toy vibrate, either end can be used to stimulate internally and externally. Externally, it can stimulate the clit, nipples, testicles, or whatever you want. You can hold onto the base and insert the bloom end for g-spot stimulation. If that end proves to be a bit too difficult to insert, you can also flip it around and insert the base of the stem. If you're using Bloom anally, I suggest only inserting the base of the stem so that the bloom end can act to keep the toy from getting lost inside of you.

Bloom is also waterproof, so play can really be taken anywhere.

I think Bloom would be a good choice for users of any level. It's got such a variety of ways to use it.

Material / Texture

Bloom is made out of silicone and ABS plastic. The entire outer body of it is coated in a bright green silicone. Underneath the silicone is a hard plastic body. The stem area is completely flexible. There is a visible seam running up and down the body of Bloom lengthwise. It can barely be felt when running a finger over it and cannot be felt at all during use.

Silicone is a non-porous material. It is completely safe to share between partners, granted you wash it before sharing. The material is hypoallergenic, latex free, and phthalates free. It's simple to care for and will last a long time if properly cared for.

Bloom does not have any texture to it. It's just soft, smooth silicone. I really like the material. I don't think Bloom would be appealing if it had a ton of texture to it in addition to the unique shape. I think this toy would appeal to both beginners and advanced users due to the safety of the material and the shape of the toy.

I did not notice a scent or flavor to Bloom right out of the packaging.

Design / Shape / Size

Bloom is a pretty decently sized toy. It measures 6 3/4 inches in length. The widest part of the bloom is 4 1/4 inches around and the base is 3 1/2 inches around. The stem is about 3/4 of an inch around at its smallest.

The head of Bloom is shaped like a flower's bloom about to pop open. The bottom of it is round and full and it tapers off to a curved point. The stem widens towards the base. On the front of the base is the Leaf logo and two buttons. One button controls the bloom and the other button controls the base. At the very bottom of the base is a small round patch in the silicone. This is where you plug the toy in to charge.

The head and base of Bloom are hard due to the plastic underneath the silicone. The stem is very flexible. This makes it a bit easier to insert the toy because it flexes to fit into your body.

I think the size and shape of Bloom will suit a good variety of users. The bloom tip is pointed to provide pinpoint stimulation of the clit. If you want to stimulate a broader area, the sides of the tip are rounded. Either end can be inserted, so if you find you need to work your way up to inserting the bloom end you can start with the stem end.

Bloom next to Better Than Chocolate

I also think Bloom is a pretty discreet toy. Looking at it, it just looks like a cutesy spring knickknack. It doesn't scream sex toy. The small size should make it easy to hide. I think it would be suitable for travel since it's not a big, complicated toy and it doesn't look like a sex toy.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Bloom is powered by two buttons at the base of the stem. One powers the bloom's motor while the other powers the motor in the stem's base. Upon hitting a button, it will light up and appear very bright green. Both buttons can be operated at the same time. After turning it on, you hold onto the button to change the level of intensity of the vibrations. Simply click it again to turn it off. To lock it, hold onto the buttons at the same time. Hold them down until the lights flash off. The toy can only be locked off, not locked on. To unlock it, do the same thing. The toy is unlocked when the top light flashes on. The controls are very simple to use. I always take my toys out and play with them right out of the box. I don't actually use them, I just play with the controls a bit. I only had to refer to Bloom's guide to figure out how to lock it.

This toy does not have any variety in function. It simply goes from low to high in vibration levels. The button's light will flash on and off as you change the intensity until it reaches the maximum. The low level vibrations are very basic. It provides just a bare touch of vibrations that would be suitable for very sensitive users. Going up to the high level of vibrations, they are pretty intense feeling. These are the kind of vibrations that make your hands go numb after a couple of minutes of using the toy.

Compared to other vibrators I've used, these are much stronger. If I press the toy against my pubic bone, I can feel vibrations all over my pelvis and even in my thighs.

Bloom is a decently quiet toy. It's almost completely silent on the lowest setting. Once you start getting up higher in intensity, it gets louder. It has this awful mosquito-like whine to it at the highest setting. I noticed the head also knocks around a bit inside and makes noise unless it is held if you go up to the highest setting. Despite how awful the noise sounds, it's not very loud. It's about as loud as a cell phone vibrating. Covers and a door will definitely mask the noise.

This is a completely waterproof toy. Every bit of it is sealed with silicone, so water cannot get into it. The charging port is covered with a thin layer of silicone. It can be charged through it, however water cannot penetrate it. Underneath water, it's a bit quieter. Other than that, it performs the same as it does out of water.

Bloom is charged by an included adapter. The adapter does not have a ground, so it should fit most electrical outlets. The guide contains no information on whether or not this adapter will work in other countries. It does state to only charge the toy with this adapter. While there are universal adapters out there, they most likely do not have a low enough output for voltage to work with Bloom.

Charging time for Bloom is at least 30 minutes. You'll want to charge it until the red light on the toy turns off. Out of the packaging, I don't think mine had a charge on it.

One thing that irritated me about Bloom is how long the charge lasts. I charged it one day and put it away fully charged. I went to use it a couple of days later and it was completely dead, so I had to charge it again for another couple of hours. Since it was dead when I actually wanted to use it, I ended up using something else that held its charge for a longer period of time.

Care and Maintenance

When it's time to clean Bloom, you can use soap and warm water or a toy cleaner. Bloom has working parts inside of it so I do not recommend boiling it or throwing it in the dishwasher. The intense heat of both would melt the plastic and ruin the vibrating motors. Since it's waterproof, it's safe to just throw it in the sink with some soap.

I strongly suggest air drying Bloom. Silicone is a lint magnet. Simply setting this down on what appeared to be a cat hair free table ended up covering it in cat hair. If you dry it off with a towel, it will most likely end up covered in lint.

Bloom can be stored in the original box or included storage pouch. If you prefer, you can also store it in a Ziploc baggie. It should not be stored in with other silicone toys unless there is some sort of barrier preventing contact between them. Just being thrown in with other silicone toys will wreck the material on all of them.

Since this is a silicone toy, it is only compatible with water based lubricants. Silicone based lubes will wreck the finish of the material. Keep in mind that the manufacturer will also void your warranty if you use a silicone lube with Bloom.

Packaging

Bloom comes packaged in a small brown cardboard box. One side has a magnetic closure to it. The front says Leaf in the bottom left corner and Bloom up in the right top corner. The back states some basic information about Bloom, such as how it is waterproof, made of silicone, seamless, rechargeable, and phthalates free. Bloom is made in China. There is a 1 year limited warranty and a 10 year limited guarantee on the product.

Flipping open the lid, the first thing you'll see is the manual. I strongly suggest reading this before use as it is extremely informative. Underneath the manual you'll find Bloom, the charger, and a small storage pouch. Bloom arrived wrapped in plastic wrap that also has a bit of safety information on it. It says pretty much to not use silicone lubes with Bloom as it ruins the finish of the toy. Using a silicone based lube with Bloom voids the warranty.

The storage pouch is rough in feel. I'd say it's like a burlap sack. It's a nice, natural feeling pouch in a warm brown color. The top has a drawstring closure. It is not padded. I think the pouch would be good for storing other toys if you prefer to keep Bloom in the box.

Overall, I'd say the packaging is appealing to look at and good for gifts. Bloom is not introduced anywhere as a sex toy. I like that the natural look to the packaging and storage pouch fit the scheme of a natural toy shape.

Experience

For my personal anatomy, Bloom is a decent fit. The bloom end is really a little bit too big for me to insert comfortably. I typically have trouble inserting vibrators, however, so not everyone will have this issue. I do like that the other end is slim and easy to insert. It's odd to insert the end with the buttons on it, since you have to pull it out to change the setting, but there's really nowhere else to put them unless they attach a remote to it. I find the bloom end perfect for stimulating my clit and the area around it. I'm not a big fan of pinpoint stimulation. I definitely prefer it to cover a more broad area, which the sides of the bloom do wonderfully.

The intensity of the vibrations is perfect. Bloom is one of the more powerful toys I own, if not the most powerful. I like that I can adjust the intensity level very easily. Starting out with super powerful vibrations always makes me giggle, but slowly increasing the intensity works out great.

I do have to say, I did not have an orgasm from this toy. However, I honestly haven't ever had an orgasm from a vibrator. We use them for foreplay, not as the main event.
