G-spot rabbit vibrator discontinued
by Mantric

Learning Curve? Yes. Fun Times? Hell Yes!

Overall, I'd say the Siena Symphony is a great toy. It took me a little while to figure out how it works best for me, but all that experimentation was well worth the time it took. It's well made, attractive, extremely quiet, and gets me off repeatedly every time I use it. What more can I say?

Use

The Siena Symphony is a very interesting vibrator made by Mantric. It's meant to provide both G-spot and clitoral stimulation, and I'd say it does both very well. Unfortunately due to the design, and perhaps the way my anatomy works with the design, I find it difficult to get both types of stimulation at the same time. It seems to be best used with rather a rocking motion instead of the type of thrusting I am used to. Because of this, it's a little either/or for me.

The controls are very simple and easy to use, but I'd say that because of the shape of the toy, it might not be a perfect "first vibrator". I'd recommend it for someone who knows their body, their vibration preferences, and how they are able to cum best fairly well. If this had been my first, I'm not sure I'd have thought I was all that into vibrators. In the interest of full disclosure and transparency, I'll tell you that at the time I bought my first vibrator, I was fairly sexually inexperienced, had never had an orgasm before, and was not familiar with my G-spot. Even with 15 years, countless orgasms, and a working knowledge of my sexual anatomy, I've had to spend several longer than usual sessions trying to figure out how this toy will work best for me - not that I'm complaining. It's been totally fun and rewarding, but I've never owned a vibrator that really had a learning curve before and I want to let people know that this toy might take a few tries to fall in love with. It's worth your time!

I would recommend to anyone looking to use this toy have some water based lube handy; There's a lot of drag. I have not been able to insert it without a little lube, even when I was REALLY ready to go. I also find that a drop of lube on the clitoral stimulator helps, no matter how wet I am.

Material / Texture

The Symphony is made of silicone and plastic. The insertable portion and the clitoral stimulator are silicone, while the part with the controls and the battery cap are plastic.

Shockingly, there was absolutely no smell to the toy upon arrival. Most toys smell like something. Maybe factory, maybe warehouse, maybe disgusting material smell. This one had NO smell. As with every silicone toy I've ever owned, I've found it does retain the scent of the soap I've used to clean it. Not strongly. You have to really sniff it, but I do that because I want to be able to tell you folks about it.

The finish is matte. Ever had a silicone cell phone cover? If you do, you know the texture I'm talking about. If it was a blanket, you'd wanna cuddle up with it, it's so soft. Alas, when you attempt to insert anything made of material with this texture into your vagina, some water-based lube is a very good idea. I would never suggest that anyone ever insert a cell phone into their vagina, I'm just using a possibly well known object's texture as an example of the texture of this toy.

This toy is very rigid. It doesn't bend backwards (or in any other direction) during use. With the overall design of the toy, I'd say that's a good thing. There's a little bit of "give" but I wouldn't say that it really bends at all.

Another thing I've noticed, being a cat person, is that this toy is not particularly prone to picking up pet hair, lint and other detritus like any other silicone toy I've owned has been. I still give it at least a rinse before use, but I don't feel like I have to wash the heck out of an already washed toy before playing with it, and that's fantastic.

Design / Shape / Size

This is an unconventionally shaped vibrator. I totally love the idea of it, and I'm sure that there are women out there who it was almost made specifically for. I am not one of those women.

The way it works best for me, and from reviews I've read from many women, is a rocking motion... G-spot, clit, G-spot, clit, back and forth. My anatomy permits a little bit of penetration if I have the clitoral stimulator resting where it wants to be, but not enough to come close to my G-spot. If I have G-spot contact, the clitoral stimulator is not touching me. With a rocking motion, I can go back and forth, but it'd be nice to just have it all at once sometimes! I like that with the patterns, I can time my movements so the vibrator is in the best position for me. I also find that using a bullet vibe where the clitoral stimulator wants to be works well for me. It's there all the time and is made extra interesting when the clitoral stimulator of the Siena Symphony is touching it. If you've read other reviews I've written, you'll know that I like using more than one vibrator at a time, since they can combine in some very awesome ways.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This toy is totally waterproof. It has no open seams and there's an o-ring under the battery cap so water will not leak in when submerged. Due to the matte texture of the silicone, and the fact that silicone toys can't be used with silicone lube I don't foresee myself using it underwater anyway. In the shower, maybe, although I personally find it difficult to orgasm while standing up.

There are ten functions that this lovely toy offers. I have included a photo of the pattern chart that was on the box for your reference.

To start at what the package calls #1, press the down buttton. To start at #10, press the up button. To turn it off, press and hold either button. It doesn't remember where you were, it always starts at either 10 or 1.

Here's how I would describe them:

1. High (although compared to some other vibes I've owned it's closer to Medium or Low) steady vibration. Maybe I'm just used to more "buzzy" vibrators, but the High setting doesn't blow me away as some do. I actually like this. I almost never use High speed.

2. Medium steady vibration.

3. Low steady vibration. Extremely subtle. If you hold it in your hand and look closely you can see the vibration. Very interesting. It would be a nice way to wake someone up or an excellent way to tease someone.

4. Three quick bursts- Lo-Med-HI, and then slowly escalating from low to high, repeat.

5. Escalation from low to high, two quick bursts, de-escalation from high to low, two quick bursts, repeat.

6. Escalation from low to medium, two quick bursts, escalation from medium to high, two quick bursts, repeat(this one I find the feeling is somewhat different than the visual representation on the package, and is my favorite).

7. Pulses regularly escalating from low to high, but in five increments instead of three, repeat.

8. All on high: short, short, long, short, short, long, repeat.

9. On high: Short, long, short long, repeat.

10 On high: short, regular pulses.

The vibrations are a little stronger in the insertable end of the vibrator, but can be felt well in the clitoral stimulator too. If I could just find a position where I can get the best of both worlds...

Care and Maintenance

Since this toy is made of silicone and plastic, parts of it could probably be sterilized. Because of the plastic and electronic parts though, I wouldn't recommend boiling or putting it in the dishwasher. As it's waterproof, I guess you could use a bleach solution, but I don' know how that would react with the plastic. Since this toy is only for me, I just wash it with soap between uses. You can also use a toy cleaner spray or wipe, but be careful to make sure you've rinsed/washed the toy cleaner and/or soap off well if you are sensitive to triclosan (I am... it BURNS!!!) Wash, rinse, rinse, rinse, repeat! If I use toy cleaner -which I do every so often- I'll wash it with a mild plain soap after and then rinse a lot.

Water based lubes are the best bet for the Siena Symphony. Silicone toys should not be allowed to come into contact with silicone, as it can degrade the material. This means don't use silicone lube on it. Be careful with lubricated condoms if you're sharing your toy, many of them have silicone in the lubricant. Non-lubricated condoms are a safe bet for any toy you'd want to cover. That way you can choose what lube will work best for your toy and your body.

You should also be careful not to let two silicone toys rest against each other for the same reason. If you have a bunch of silicone toys like I do, I recommend storing each in its own pouch, box, or zip-loc bag. This one has a nice box and that's where I'm storing it; When I don't just set it back on my bedside table after I wash it.

The manufacturer recommends that you take the batteries out between uses, and I would likely do that if I was going to be away from my toys for an extended period of time, but right now, I'm using this vibrator daily if not more often, have not taken the batteries out, and they're still doing fine. I'm sure you can get even better battery life out of your toys if you really do take the batteries out between uses.

Packaging

The package is very classy. It measures 3 7/8"x 11"x 2 3/8". It has a photo of the toy on the box, and since the toy is so oddly shaped I'd have said the packaging was discreet except that it does say "intimate massager" on it in small letters in a few places. The box gives a visual representation of the various vibration speeds and patterns, of which I have included a picture (above).

Inside the box, the toy rests in a white foam cutout and there is a little insert with use, care and battery safety instructions in English, German, French and Spanish.
    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

I've used it several times now and I keep wondering how much I like it. I like many things about it, but I fear that this toy was not made with my particular anatomy in mind. It's a very well made toy, and I'd say at this point that I do like it. I keep thinking, though "How am I gonna feel about it at the follow up review?" I feel like maybe this is a fun novelty, and wonder am I going to set it aside because using it requires a bit more attention than some? Maybe it'll be good for those nights when I really need a long, slow session and there's no one around to help me out.

A few things I think you should know:
-When I say it takes a while, I mean the first time I used this, I was at it for about an hour. I needed to change hands about every 20 minutes, as my hand and wrist got tired. The more I use it, the less time I need, but I can see myself being in a place again where an hour seems like the right amount of time.
- If you are a very round type woman, and have short arms, finding a wonderful angle with this toy will try your patience as it did mine. It's well worth your time and patience to experiment!
-I have found that the proverbial "face down, ass up" position works well with this toy for me, particularly because there's no one there to see me doing it... No, really I like it because I can't cum with anything inside me anyways, so if I'm doing the rocking thing and start to cum, it's easy to position the G-spot end on my clitoris and just cum all over the place. Mental note: remember to put towels down before starting.

Experience

I like the Siena Symphony. I like it a lot...in some ways. I did get it as a buyout assignment. I was wondering for so long if I'd like it that I finally went ahead and got it, and I'm glad I did. Knowing what I know now about it, would I buy it for full price ($48.99)? Maybe. If I had a friend or lover I thought might like it, I'd definitely think about buying it as a gift. If I had fifty bucks to spend on myself and somehow mine had gone missing, would I replace it? Maybe. Maybe not. Ask me in a couple months if I can live without it or not.
Follow-up commentary
I was just extolling the virtues of this vibe last weekend. I had a boyfriend over who was looking for a dual action vibe for his main lady's birthday present. It works reasonably well for me, and I showed him how, and let him try out how it works from a partner's perspective (no complaints here!). He seemed impressed. I certainly was. I didn't think that this vibe could be great for partner play, but as it turns out, with the right partner, it can be as good, if not better than solo! Woo hoo! Still love it solo or not.

I really like this toy. Even after a couple months and having bought some new toys in the interim, I still use it. Battery life is good, and it's just a well made toy and comfortable. I still say that vibrator beginners might be disappointed, but if you're a beginner and like the description and think it could work for you, get it. You know your body better than I do!
