Spirit - luxury clitoral vibrator discontinued by Leaf - review by Zandrock

The Spirit by Leaf is a small handheld external vibrator. It is largely designed for clitoral stimulation, but also works great on nipples, thighs, backs, and other erogenous zones. This is focused for a female audience, but some men do enjoy vibrations on their penis and could use this toy.

This toy is definitely friendly for beginners and toy veterans it provides a nice spectrum of light to intense rumbly vibrations. It is a simple, ergonomic design, that I think almost everyone will enjoy.

I also found this works as a couples vibrator. It fits the contours of the female body nicely, so it can be closed over the clitoris while having intercourse, making it a very versatile toy.

The spirit is an internal motor that is covered in a silicone finish. Silicone rates a 10/10 on EF's safety scale for a lot of reasons. Firstly it is extremely body safe. It is hypoallergenic, latex free, phthalate free, and non-porous. Because it is non porous it is extremely easy to clean. You can use just soap and water In porous materials bacteria can live in the pores and then it is impossible to clean, because sometimes the soap and water will not reach them. With a non-porous material there can only be bacteria on the surface of the toy, so cleaning with soap and water will kill all of them. The toy has no odor and no taste (if you have just washed it of course) which is nice.

The toy has a very smooth finish to it. The silicone has very little drag and glides across skin easily even without any lubrication. The toy has no texture to it at all. There is a seam that runs along the toy that you can visually see, but when using the toy you cannot feel it at all which is nice. The silicone does have some cushion to it. Although the toy is hard and inflexible you can push down a bit and feel silicone, which makes the toy more pleasant to use when putting some light pressure on your clitoris

The design of the Spirit is quite amazing. One of the first features is the toy is waterproof. Personally my girlfriend and I enjoy using toys while taking a sensual bath, so that is something we appreciate.

Secondly the toy has a nice curve to it. When using the toy it fits over my girlfriend's pubic bone almost precisely. It really fits the curves of her body and therefore sits on her entire genitals providing stimulation to the entire vulva, clitoris, and upwards slightly. This lets it provide lots of stimulation and lots of pleasure instead of just providing vibrations to a single part of her genitals.

The size of the toy is nice. It fits in the palm of your hand and is easy to manipulate. The Sprit is 2 ¾” long, 4 ¼” in circumference and 1 ¾” in diameter. It is a great size and works for having the toy between you during partnered sex. I think the size works for beginners to vibrator veterans.

The toy does look like a leaf in my opinion which is fun and whimsical and fits with Leaf's ecofriendly idea.

This toy is very easy to hide, it comes with a small pouch that holds the toy and the charger and is quite small. It would be easy to hide it in a pillowcase, under your bed, in a drawer or wherever.

The spirit only has a single button. You press it once to turn it on, and then continue to hold it and it will cycle through power levels till it maxes out at a certain speed. I like controls of this style. They are very easy to use. The toy has a lock feature for when traveling with it, so it does not accidentally turn on. You just triple tap the button to lock, and then triple tap to unlock. This is nice for storage.

The controls are quite convenient and easy to use. The only problem is during partnered use something when I thrust I accidentally hit the button and vibrator turns off. This happens in missionary, but does not happen in cowgirl. Sometimes when trying to increase the power on the toy I do not hold the button for long enough (2 seconds) and the toy turns off, but that is just a minor inconvenience.

The toy has a 2 hour charging time for a 1 hour and 15 minute battery life. That is plenty for me as our sessions never last that long. It also comes with a 1 year limited warranty which is nice.

The toy has no patterns. This may be a disappointment to some people, but for others like myself patterns are never used, because straight vibrations are more enjoyable. So you will have to decide if patterns are a deciding factor in the purchase of a vibrator.

The vibrations on this toy are dispersed throughout the entire toy, but they are largely concentrated within the tip of the toy. This really allows you to have pinpoint clitoral vibrations if you desire. The rest of the toy does get good vibrations too meaning lots of the genitals are stimulated, especially with the ergonomic curve.

In order to charge the toy you just insert the charger into a small port. You have to push a little bit to get in. It has lots of silicone around it and a very small hole. This is so that the toy can be waterproof. Even though the toy is waterproof you should not charge the toy until it is completely dry, because if it is wet you can push some water into the charging port and damage the toy.

As just mentioned the toy is completely waterproof. We have used it in the tub on a couple of occasions and it worked well. All toys in the tub lose a bit of their power, but there was still lots of strength. This toy has quite rumbly vibrations for such a small vibrator. They feel quite powerful and deep and are preferable to more buzzy vibrations in my opinion.

The toy is relatively quiet. On the loudest setting you would be able to hear it through sheets, but not through an closed door.

This toy is very easy to take care of; Just wash it with soap and water after each use. Because it is waterproof you can run water over it.

Because of the electrical components you should not boil this toy or stick it in the dishwasher, but you should be able to sterilize it in a 10% bleach solution without damaging it.

Silicone is very easy to take care of. It is non-porous so it does not harbor any bacteria or germs. After soap and water the toy is very clean and could likely be shared between partners (there is a bit of risk with just soap and water).

Storing the toy is easy because it comes with a nice storage pouch. Its just a small bag with drawstrings that fits both the Spirit and the charger.

Because this is a silicone based toy you should NOT use it with a silicone based lubricant. Instead use a water based lubricant, but because this toy is external I have never found the need to use lubricant. Some people might though and in that case used a water based one.

The spirit comes with gorgeous packaging that would be great for a gift. It comes in a nice cardboard box that is quite strong and just looks nice. Inside the box is a small black sleeve that has the instruction manual. And then if you remove that is the Spirit and the charger in a small little sack. The instruction booklet is very informative and tells you all the features, charging time, specifications of the motor and is quite good. The box would be good to store the toy in, but it is larger and it comes with a nice storage sack. I keep mine in just the sack.

The box that it comes in does not scream sex toy, but if you looked at it for a bit you would probably know what it was. There are photos of the vibrator and it says rechargeable, and some other things that imply it is a vibrator.

One hard decision I found was deciding between an expensive rechargable vibrator and a cheap on that uses batteries. I have personally found that I like the settings, power, durability, and ability to recharge higher end vibrators. I think I will actually save money not having to buy batteries and I expect this toy to last a couple of years at least. It seems very well made. So if you are having a hard time deciding between this and a cheaper vibrator I would go with this one. I think you get more bang for your buck with this one. I do however suggest trying a cheap one first and decide if you like clitoral vibrations. But once you have deciding you like them, then save up a bit and invest in a nice vibrator.

The Spirit is our go to vibrator, it provides great stimulation and is an awesome shape. My girlfriend has said this is her favorite toy and it just works really well.
