Astrovibes Leo - traditional vibrator by Fun Factory - review by lovekink

The Astrovibe Leo is a fairly traditional 3 speed vibrator. It can be used to stimulate the clitoris, breasts, and anus but of course not limited to only these places. It can also be used inserted into the vagina. I would not recommend using it anally, as it lacks a flared base to prevent anything unfortunate from happening. It is a great toy for anyone from beginner to advanced, but if you are looking for something with a little backbone behind its vibrations I would suggest you keep looking. I prefer to use this for clitoral stimulation because the material isn't too hard like some plastics can be, but still provides enough pressure to get me aroused.

The Astrovibe Leo is made out of silicone and has a plastic base. Silicone rates a 10 out of 10 on the safety scale and is one of the best available materials a product can be made out of. Silicone is non pourous and can be completely sanitized by boiling in water for at least 3 minutes, which would make it ideal for sharing if the vibe wasn't battery operated. Battery operated toys can not be boiled. It is also hypo-allergenic, latex free and phthalates free.

The vibe does have a slight, plastic-like smell when it was initially taken out of the box. The smell is barely noticeable unless placed near the nose. After using it few times I don't even notice the smell anymore.

The texture of the vibe is fairly smooth. Most of the vibe's shaft is smooth, it and tapers in as you approach the head of it. It also has some ridges, which are the only things that break up the smooth texture. The ridges can mostly be felt during vaginal penetration. I noticed them when thrusting and also during clitoral stimulation, mostly because the ridges were placed directly on my clitoris.

It is also quite flexible. It can be moved a little bit side to side and the material does have some give to it. While glass and some metals share a 10 on the safety scale, they lack the flexibility and give to compare withy silicone vibes like the Astrovibe Leo.

The Astrovibe Leo is designed with the Leo astrology theme. I believe the design of the ridges on the vibes shaft and it's yellowish color are to reflect a lion, which is known as the sign of a Leo. I am not a Leo, and received this vibe as a free gift, but have had enough fun with it that I don't care that it's not even my sign! It is manufactured by Fun Factory and is available in all of the astrological signs.

It is supposed to be shaped to reflect the Lion, but I don't really see any sort of connection. The length of the toy is 7" long with about 6" of that being insertable. The shape of the shaft resembles a penis, and even tapers in at the top making a slightly pointed tip. It does have a large diamete,r and at it's thickest point it is 5" wide. The thicker the portion of the toy is the less flexible it becomes.

All the functions of the Leo are controlled by the turn base dial that doubles as a cap for the batteries. If you turn the base, it will turn the vibe on and start on a slow speed. If you keep turning the dial it will advance through two other speeds, medium and high. All the speeds are fairly quiet, allowing you to be discreet. It does get louder through the different speeds, but would be difficult to hear through a wall. I don't think this vibe has a great vibration even on it's highest speed, so it probably won't get you off but it will help to get you there.

Typically silicone is easy to completely clean and sterilize by boiling, but you should not boil this one. Keep in mind that it is battery operated and I don't think that the plastic cap would really survive that. The plastic cap also makes it so that it shouldn't really come into contact with a water or be completely submerged. I would recommend wiping this down with a 10% bleach solution to disinfect it.

It is recommended that silicone toys only be used with water based lubricants. If you use something else you run the risk of damaging the silicone.

The best way to store this vibe is wrapped in a t-shirt and placed in a dresser drawer. If you don't put it in something it will start to collect lint and hair. I saved my original packaging and just place it back in there.

The Astrovibe comes packaged in a box with a clear window allowing you to see the vibe. It is not discreet, but the packaging is strangely impressive. The box has a little window in the front and the back. The window in the back actually has shutter-like flaps that can be closed and restrained by a little magnet. The flaps contain information about the vibe in multiple different languages. Within the box is a plastic insert that keeps the vibe in place. It also helps to create the look of the windows on the box. I suggest saving the box and plastic and using it as a storage place for this vibe because this toy will easily attract lint and hair.

Included in the packaging is also a little, foldable user manual. It explains how to insert 2 AA batteries (not included) and how to adjust the speed settings. It also has a picture of all the vibes included in the Astrovibe line, and others in the Fun Factory collection.

This vibe is great for anyone, not just the Leos! I received it as a free gift and I am glad to have it. It's been easy to clean and the original box makes it easy to maintain and store. Its size is a lot of fun, and I really enjoy using it with my husband.
