Sweet Obsession Divine—Divine for Whom?

This is a good vibrator for beginners: it's the perfect size and shape and has good vibrations. But it is not a quality toy by any means. I honestly think you're much better off buying something battery-powered if you're considering this toy. The life of the battery is short, and the charge time is long. You'll spend more time waiting on this toy to charge than actually playing with it.

Use

The Sweet Obsession Divine is a G-spot/clitoral vibrator that is small, cute, and easy to clean. It is best used for internal or external stimulation. I did not find this vibrator to be very effective for me, especially because of the way it charges (more on that later).

This petite vibe is one that might come up a bit short for a lot of women, even more so for advanced users of toys. Rechargeable vibrator fans beware.

It's relatively quiet, but it would be noticeable if someone were in the same room. Television or music probably isn't necessary if you have a closed door and decently thick walls.

This toy has what appears to be a G-spot curve, but it doesn't really work for me. It never hits me right. It's more work for me than necessary, so I find it more of a pain.

Material / Texture

The good news is that this vibrator is made of silicone. The insertable portion is made of silicone, and the handle is made of plastic. The feel of the material is quite nice, but it's not nearly as soft as other toys made of silicone (e.g., the G-Ki).

There is no real smell or taste to this vibrator (which is good), and there is no sticky feeling (also good). Nobody wants a sticky, smelly, icky vibe. And this vibrator is not any of those things.

Design / Shape / Size

This is a good-sized toy for a beginner. The total length is 7" with an insertable length of around 4". It is 1 1/4" in diameter and has a slight curve for G-spot stimulation.

I love the look of this toy. It's cute, and it has a slight dolphin-esque look to it. The head of the toy comes to a point, and it gives the illusion that it gently folds over another layer of the silicone at the point. This "fold" makes the tip of the toy look like a dolphin's mouth/head (just without the eyes or creepy smile).

The curve of the head may work for some users for G-spot stimulation. I find this toy most pleasing for clitoral stimulation, however, since the head has such a nice tip for pinpoint stimulation.

Since the toy is small, it's fairly easy to hide. I would find a better storage box/bag for it, though. The box the toy comes in is rather large in comparison to the toy and would be kind of a pain to have to take it in and out of. Since the toy's material is smooth silicone, it attracts lint and hair (gross). I would go with a storage bag made of a satin or silk (or even plastic); either that or get a small enough box.

This toy is probably not good for travel either (if you keep the rechargeable battery in it) because the buttons are pretty sensitive.

Functions / Performance / Controls

As for the vibrations, they are fairly decent. They are not as strong as I originally thought, though. For beginners, this is probably the strength of vibration you would want to look for at first. And the variation of patterns is also quite nice. There are ten functions in all, and there is also a fancy "memory chip." All that means is that the toy will remember the pattern you were on when you last used the toy, so it's not really all that fancy—just convenient.

As for the controls, there are two buttons: a power button and a pattern-cycle button. The pattern-cycle button can also turn the toy on, though. As I said before, the buttons are fairly sensitive. They are made of a soft, squishy material (I'm not sure if they are silicone or not; it doesn't say). It takes very little effort to push them, which is handy during use, but not so handy when it's in storage.

The way this toy charges is rather odd. Rather than the toy itself being plugged into the wall, there is a battery that you must charge externally. When the toy first arrived, the battery charger had to be put together (another odd thing about this vibrator). The toy comes apart where the silicone body meets the plastic handle. It unscrews with one twist, and the battery compartment is revealed.

The battery is a rechargeable CR-2 battery. It comes tightly packed into its little spot in the plastic tray the toy comes in. There is also a thin wrapper surrounding it, so be aware of that before you insert the battery. The toy's not broken; it's just the wrapper surrounding the battery.

The performance of this toy left me pretty disappointed. I expected a lot more from a rechargeable toy.

My issue with it is that it never stays on very long. I'm not talking about how long the battery lasts (you charge it for FOUR HOURS, and you get 45 MINUTES of use out of it; that's not a very fair ratio, is it?). My toy does not stay on for that long. This is not because of the battery dying; it is because there is something wrong with whatever the battery is supposed to be touching. When the toy turns off in the middle of use, I have to unscrew the cap and jiggle the battery around some before it will work again. Again, this toy is more of a pain than it is pleasing.

I honestly think this toy would be better off running on a couple of AAAs or AAs. I mean, what happens when that little battery actually conks out? I've looked online: rechargeable CR-2 batteries are hard to come by.
    • Battery guzzler
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

This toy is made of silicone and plastic, so you should really only use water-based lubricant with it. The good news is that this vibrator is waterproof, so it's very easy to clean! Warm water and soap, bleach solution, or toy cleaner/wipes should do the trick.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Great review thanks. When I think rechargeable and at almost eighty bucks I would want a toy to totally rock. Shame this one fell short.

For that price this should be awesome. Such a shame that this is not a good one, it is a beauty.

I think I'll pass on this one. Too expensive and very little play time.

Great review, I've never heard of a toy that charges like this before. How annoying! That is definitely not enough play time to be worth the hassle of the charge issues
