Symphony Rhapsody

Being my first toy purchase, I couldn't be more happy with it. The vibrations were much stronger than I thought they'd be. I was worried about storing it, but the tin it came in was small enough to slide under my bed and kept it free of the lint that the toy seemed to attract when left out. I love the waterproof design; using it in the shower makes clean up really easy. Overall it was a great purchase and I'd definitely recommend it!

Use

The Symphony Rhapsody is a great toy, good for both vaginal and clitoral stimulation. It is a little big, so some type of lube is a must for those of us who are a little on the tight side. The flexibility allows for direct clitoral use since the toy bends a bit, and the vibe can be placed right where you want it. The three different vibration intensities make it a great toy to use for building up to an orgasm (or to drive your partner crazy).

The waterproof design makes it ideal for a quickie in the shower. The screw on end cap makes a really tight seal, so water in the battery compartment isn't an issue.

Material / Texture

The Symphony Rhapsody is made of TPR. It's flexible, but not overly so. The material itself is smooth, but the toy is ribbed for the majority of the insertable length, which adds wonders to the feel when it's inside you. The raised bits provide excellent g-spot stimulation.

It does give off a slight odor, only noticeable when it's right under your nose.

It's really easy to clean and very low maintenance to take care of. A wash with warm water and soap works just as well as toy cleaner. The toy seems to attract lint and fuzzies, so I would recommend a quick rinse with warm water before play.
    • Flexible
    • Light odor
    • Somewhat porous

Design / Shape / Size

The Rhapsody has a bit of girth to it, but despite that, I think it'd make a good toy for beginners. With a little lube, whether artificial or natural, it'll slide in no problem.

Because of the placement of the vibe within the toy, combined with the flexibility, it makes it easy to use the toy for direct clitoral stimulation, however, the toy is long. Getting it placed just right takes a little trial and error as with anything.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There are three intensity settings on the Rhapsody. The end that you hold is shaped to fit easily within your hand. The button is on the end of the toy, and a simple push rotates between the three settings. One thing I don't like about it is how easy it is to accidentally switch it off mid play. If you hold it with two fingers on either side of the button, it helps to prevent this accidental turn off, but sometimes, mid orgasm, it still happens.

There is a very noticeable difference between the settings. The highest setting is very intense, and for people with super sensitive clits like me, it can get a bit overwhelming. Cycling through the three while it's placed directly on the clit makes for one hell of an orgasm though!

The toy is waterproof, making it awesome for a quick go in the tub or shower, and the noise it gives off is minimal. It is almost completely drowned out by the shower on its highest setting, so if you need a relatively quiet toy that packs a punch, this one is excellent.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

Rhapsody is really easy to take care of. A quick wash with warm water and soap or toy cleaner, and it's good to go! I keep it in the Evolved box that it came in, which isn't very discrete. The foam insert on the bottom can be removed and placed on top to cover up the actual toy, despite the big see through window on the lid.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

Going along with what seems to be Evolved's signature packaging, this toy comes in a metal tin with two locking ends. The lid of the tin has a see-through hole that is in the shape of the toy. When you open the shipping box, you can see it first hand. It's cradled in two foam inserts, so if you take the bottom insert out and place it on top of the toy, you can't see through the hole. Since the outside of the tin just says 'Evolved' and 'Symphony Rhapsody' on it, there's no real worry about storing it in the tin as long as you've got the see through bit covered.
    • Not discreet

Personal comments

I love this toy. It's easy to use, easy to take care of, and easy to store. It's fairly discreet in terms of noise and with it being waterproof, I can use it in the bed or in the shower. It packs a lot of power off of two AA batteries, and doesn't drain them super fast, which just adds more positive marks to it in my book.
Follow-up commentary
Five months later, the toy still gets some attention from me, but not as much as before.

I still think it makes a great first toy; it was my first toy purchase. I've discovered other toys that have stolen more play time because they work better for me.

If I could, I'd alter the vroom and bee ratings. As the toy has gotten older, the motor has started to lose some of its original 'oomph.' The highest setting still has some force behind it, but not as much as it did in the beginning.

One downfall of the toy is how difficult it is to take with you. It's kinda big and bulky, and the tin - while great for storage - is kind of a pain to lug around. If it wasn't made of TPR and a complete and total lint magnet I'd try to make a little travel pouch, but since everything sticks to it, I wouldn't even know what material to use.

Some things I didn't include in my original review (but have since learned are very, very important things): TPR is somewhat porous, so if you're going to share, use a condom! Also, use a condom or clean thoroughly after if playing anally. The toy has some girth to it like I mentioned before, so I personally wouldn't nor have I used it anally.

If you're looking for a waterproof vibe that is flexible and a bit on the bigger side, I'd still recommend the Symphony Rhapsody.

Welcome to eden and thanks for the excellent first review! Remember to advise about material safety in each of your reviews. TPR is not completely non-porous so a condom should be used if sharing.
