Nubby vibrating glass - traditional vibrator by Don Wands - review by ~LaUr3n~

I love the artistic value, quality, and feel of a nice cold or warm glass toy. I love vibration too! After all those reviews on the vibrating glass Kissa, I wanted to try vibrating glass too. I chose the Nubby Vibrating Glass by Don Wands. The texture, in addition to the vibration and glass, looked like it would feel awesome. I was SORELY mistaken; it hurt me. I am one of those blessed women who can feel textures of a guy and or condom, but I guess it is a curse when it comes to toys like this. The texture is so intense that it makes the toy even thicker because of the hard material. Because of my experience, I recommend this to women who are not sensitive to texture, love large rigid toys, and don't need a ton of vibration.

This vibrating wand is made of smooth hard tempered glass. Glass is an extremely safe material because it is non-porous and free of harmful additives. Tempered glass is treated to withstand temperatures better than regular glass and it also makes it much less likely to shatter or crack. Mine is clear, which shows through to the silver vibrator in the middle. This makes it look metallic. You can get it in other colors: blue, pink, and purple. The blue is much less metallic. The base is actually a cheap feeling plastic. Because of this, this toy cannot be put in a dishwasher like other non-vibrating glass toys.

The texture is very intense! There are four rows of raised studs on the shaft. They are almost 1/4" raised above the surface. The glass itself is smooth with no pitting that I could find.

This thing is huge. I think when I looked at the real-ses picture I was mostly focusing on the bare shaft. The studding adds so much girth! Glass and other hard materials obviously have no give, so you have to keep this in mind when getting one since you probably won't be able to take as much of a hard material. I kept this in mind, but totally disregarded the texture.

The shaft has a phallic head, but other than that, is unrealistic. The head isn't all that realistic either. The entire length of the toy is 9". Because of a large ridge towards the base, the insertable length is a little over 6 1/2". The last 2 1/2" of the toy are useless for insertion and the last 1 2/" is the controls. The phallic head is more pointy than a real penis so it provides gradual insertion. The thickest portion of the toy without the studs is 5 1/2" in circumference. But adding the studs makes it almost 6". The toy is really heavy because of the size and glass material.

This toy isn't great for travel because of the size and weight. It also isn't discreet for the same reasons, adding that it is shiny and metallic as well as semi phallic.

To use this toy, you need two AA batteries; the bottom unscrews and they slide in. To turn the toy on, there is a single small push button on the bottom. Pushing it will start the first of eight different choices. The vibration is mostly felt about 2/3 of the way up the toy.

1. The first is a steady moderate vibration. The noise level is high enough to be heard through a door, but not down the hall. I noticed that the vibration would waver, but this wasn't part of the pattern. The vibrator is just really cheap. I tried a bunch of different batteries, and this still happened.

2. Steady vibration with a moderate sound level, might still be heard through a door. Inserting the toy doesn't muffle the sound at all.

3. Really low vibration with a still moderate noise, probably hard to hear through a door though.

4. A fast pulsing on a moderate level then goes to low steady speed, then gets stronger before repeating

5. A slower pulsing on moderate level that speeds up twice before repeating

6. A steady vibration on high level that slows down all the way before repeating. Feel like the toy is dying. It then goes back up.

7. A quick pulse to long pulses

8. Quick pulsing into steady vibration on high level

So there are a lot of vibration patterns, but I wasn't all that thrilled with them because I couldn't feel them very well, even clitorally. Inserting the toy was difficult. I could only do it while laying down, so this wasn't something I could use in the shower, although I tried. I had to use anal lubricant to make it as easy as possible. Getting the head in was even hard. Once in the size gets a little smaller so I could then gradually push the toy in, the studs felt awesome going in, and I got the toy about halfway. That was all I could take before I hit bone. The studs didn't stay feeling great though. As soon as I started to thrust, I was met with pain I guess my vagina is like one of those Japanese finger traps; It is tighter going out than in. The studding was just too much for me added to the girth. I liked how cold the toy felt though.

I did take this in the shower when I used it first. Although I was not able to insert it, no water got in the battery compartment, so it passes the test.

Since this is glass feel free to use any lubricant that you want. I recommend a thicker one to help get over those nubs. To clean this toy, you cannot put it in a dishwasher. Since this can't be boiled because of the plastic end, I recommend just using water and soap with a anti-bacterial spray. To store it, put it in the nice plush case it comes with.

The packaging is rather large, but the good thing is that it isn't needed. The huge plastic package just has some info, a sample of Wet lubricant, and the plush velvet pouch to put the toy in. This is super padded and will keep your toy safe. At the very bottom of the pouch are two AA batteries that are provided. I always use my own batteries, but compared to these batteries, mine felt the same. I think this is because the motor is of low quality.

I am giving this toy 2 stars. It seems luxurious, but in actuality it isn't. Even if this did fit better inside me, I'd be giving it a low rating because the vibrations are shaky and unimpressive. The texture and size combined with the hard material is just too much. I was really disappointed! I had high hopes for this, but my search for a high end vibrating glass piece is not over.
