Lucid dream 14 - g-spot vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by wetone123

I was excited to get this g-spot vibrator because it is longer than some other g-spot vibrators I have tried. I thought maybe the length of the shaft and girth of the bulb on top would help me finally find my g-spot. I did not take into consideration the tilt of the head and the narrowness of the shaft.

By looking at the picture of Lucid Dream #14, you do not realize how freakishly it is designed (at least I did not). It really does not hit home until you try to actually use the thing. The design is totally unfit for a woman's anatomy.

I honestly do not recommend this toy for anyone, beginner or advanced. A beginner would not be able to insert the head and someone advanced probably would not want this particular toy, since it does not do the job. Maybe it would make a good gag gift, but not really...the joke is on whomever bought this...ME !!!

When I opened the box, the smell was horrid. I had to wash it several times before the smell went away. I have to tell you, I got a terrible headache from the chemical smell and did not actually use this toy till the next week. I certainly would not put this in my mouth. The box says it is made with phthalates-free PVC. I would not swear to it. I read on EdenFantasys that this toy is made of jelly, but it is harder than any jelly toy I have used before. The texture is smooth. The neon color is very pretty and is probably the reason most people bought this toy in the first place. It is pleasing to the eye.

I really do not know what to make of this toy's design. The bulbous head on it looks outrageous, but it is nothing to laugh about while trying to insert. The head is 4-1/2" at its widest and is tilted in such a way that requires a sort of scooping or spooning motion to insert, which is a totally unnatural feeling. You may need assistance from your partner not to feel the awkwardness of insertion. (Wish I had had some help!) The motor is inside the head, and as Lucid #14 is translucent you can see the motor inside which looks like a silver bullet. This is where all vibration is felt.

From the 4-1/2" head, the vibrator tapers down to a narrow 2" at the top of the shaft, so once inserted it kind of feels like the head got lost somewhere up there without a handle! In other words, all that stretching you did to get the head inside you now makes that 2" feel like 0" (Somewhat like using a wide soup spoon with a narrow handle to pleasure yourself). Vibrations are not felt in the shaft at all.
Then, if you are ambitious, and stuff the shaft into yourself down to the very end of the shaft, you are treated to yet another tapering, this time up to a 5" thick finale. It's a curious mixture of dimensions indeed, somewhat hour-glass shaped.

The insertable length is 7" with a 1-1/2" battery cap with function dial on the end. The weight is very light at about a 1/2 pound.

I would not leave this toy out in the open, as it is not discreet and will be recognized as some sort of sexual device.

Lucid Dream #14 has 3 increasing levels of constant vibration. Low, medium and high. The speeds are controlled by twisting the bottom of shaft. It is very easy to control, and the high speed is actually pretty strong! All vibration is felt in the bulbous head, where the motor is located. I did not feel any vibration in the shaft, which is very strange for an insertable vibrator, since in my opinion, you should feel vibration in the shaft as well as the top. I suppose the makers were concentrating on maximum vibration on the g-spot and nowhere else. On the bright side, it did ensure maximum vibration as a clitoral vibe, and using the shaft as a handle was very handy while rubbing it back and forth.

The vibrator uses 2 AA batteries which are easily inserted by unscrewing the white ribbed cap on the bottom of the shaft.

Another plus for some is that it is very quiet! On high speed under the covers I could not even hear it, so you are guaranteed not to disturb anyone with it. This toy is water-proof, but I did not try it in the water and probably will not in the future.

As I have stated this toy is described as jelly, but is harder than any jelly product I've ever used. On the box it is described as PVC. This could be very confusing for some. It may be a mystery just what this product IS made of...and what chemicals could have produced such a horrid smell. It may be a good idea to use a condom with this toy as a safety measure.

In any case, it can not be sterilized. Much washing with soap and warm water is required before and after use. I would most certainly wash it until the smell went away and air it out before attempting to use it. So far I have not had any trouble with it collecting hair or lint like some others have stated.

You must use a water based lube as other lubes may deteriorate and break down the materials it is made of. This product is not a long-lasting product or noted for endurance. I will be storing Lucid #14 in the box it came in, away from my more precious toys, probably to find it melted one day.

Lucid Dream #14 is packaged in an exciting clear plastic box, featuring the vibe to its greatest potential. It is very attractive and groovy looking, like a 70's design, and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. But the claims on it are what gets you excited to use the vibrator. On the front it says "WOMANS HEALTH WINNER BEST MAXI VIBE". It also says the feeling is "surreal". On the back it says "Lucid Dreams is wildly abstract, wickedly erotic, a technological multi-speed wonder with the most advanced motor we've ever made". Kind of turns you on just reading that doesn't it? High expectations are in order but not received! Additionally, this product is made by Doc Johnson and manufactured in China.

I understand that every woman is built differently and some will find this product hits the spot. I seriously doubt it, but it's possible. It did not hit MY spot. And if you can get some help inserting the head you may have a better time with the whole experience. Just make sure you have plenty of patience and lube.

But, with so many products to choose from on Edenfantasys that : will not be such a hassle inserting, are shaped for a womans body, will do the job, and are as inexpensive as Lucid Dream #14, I would advise you NOT to buy this toy. The experience I had with this toy will definitely have me rethinking about the reasons I buy a toy. I will no longer buy a toy because I like the color or because it looks pleasing to my eye. After all, I will not be sticking sexual toys into my eye! And I will be making sure that the materials I buy will not be toxic! I think a lot of my hot pussy and do not want to poison her.

Lucid Dream #14 was excellent when it came to clitoral stimulation. I had a dreamy time with that and came gloriously close to orgasm very easily several times. But I was saving myself for the "surreal" feeling the box promised. Surely this toy is gonna rock my world, right? Wrong! In my opinion, its only redeeming feature is when used externally, as a strong clitoral stimulator, but when it came to inserting the large bulb on top it was very hard to do! Lots of lube was required, in addition to relaxing the vaginal muscles and taking deep breaths (kind of like having a baby in reverse!) helped to finally guide it in...and then, nothing. Where was that maxi vibe now? I wondered. I could barely feel it inside of me. I tried moving it toward the direction where I was told my g-spot should be, but nothing. I have never used a vibrator that I could not feel some sort of pleasure while inside of me. It was a very strange feeling. I could not thrust this vibrator either as the monster bulb on top hurt me, both putting it in and taking it out.
It was not a total loss, as I finished up with much clitoral stimulation and it felt very good. In short, this is a pretty, colorful, clit vibe. That is all I will be using it for, if ever again.
