Use

Sliquid Organics O Gel is best used as described on the bottle - pump a dollop onto a finger or a toy, and massage it into your clitoris. The gel is slick, and it melts into your natural juices easily and fluidly as its rubbed onto sensitive tissues. In addition to the clitoris, this gel will feel nice to some when rubbed on other surfaces of the vulva - like the inner labia - or even on the head of a penis. Just experiment a bit to see what works best for you!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The main thickener in this water based product is something called hydroxyethylcellulose, which as indicated on the bottle, is derived from cotton. The other major thickener is aloe. These two gelling agents are used in a number of cosmetic applications, but are very very thick gel substances, giving the product a very thick, somewhat slimy texture, that melts into nothingness with caressing and massaging.

The gel is made from natural sources (so, instead of getting a certain substance from a completely synthetic source, they come from a plant at some point). There are no “no-no” ingredients in this gel – it is glycerin-free and paraben-free. The ingredient list is impressive – everything is smart and unoffensive, and the ingredients derived from natural sources (some of which are organic and indicated as such) are highlighted for the curious. Information is sexy.

Taste / Aroma

In addition to a solid, water-based gel base, this product contains peppermint extract and sweet almond oil (mixed in to dilute the peppermint somewhat while adding just enough oily creaminess to the resultant mix), as well as menthol. The gel thus tastes and smells minty, and the mint is strong enough that that is all you will taste or smell.

Performance

This gel is slippery and lube-a-licous in consistency, but I would not recommend using it in place of a regular water-based lube for penetration simply because it's designed to work well as a minty clitoral stimulator, and price wise it's not good value as a general lube. Also, the tingly sensation might be far too overwhelming if used internally, and it would be hard to wash off if it got to be too much.

Beyond all that, with vigorous thrusting this gel tends to get thick and frothy, which is not really desirable in a lube used for penetrative sex.

Packaging

The bottle is a small 1oz bottle with a cute little pump top that works effortlessly to dispense the right amount of the gel for a typical use, which I appreciate. Want to know the coolest thing about this pump? The tube that goes into the bottle is stiff and curved so that when the contents are getting low, it will still deliver product with just a little tip and shake of the bottle.

Special Features

The stimulating effect of this gel is simply a cooling minty fresh type stimulation, nothing more cryptic, and boy does it feel amazing. A beautiful, and well balanced tingle. If the tingle gets to be too much, soap and water will clear it off.

Experience

Here is a rundown of each ingredient and it's purpose:

Aqua: A fancy/upscale way of saying water.

Hydroxyethylcellulose: A humectant, derived in this instance from cotton. Humectants like to “hang onto” water, and are the components of a lube that are responsible for that gel texture and that long-time-slippery effect. They are also the reason lubes can be “recharged” with the addition of more water.

Aloe Barbadensis: This also acts as a humectant, and it is an extract from the familiar aloe plant.

Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E): Vitamin E acts as a preservative and general anti bacterial and anti fungal. Plus, it's vitamin E – it moisturizes and all that good stuff.

Cyamopsis (Guar Gum): A familiar food thickener, derived from a natural source. In this product, it acts to thicken and also also acts as an emollient. And Emollient is something that helps all the components of this gel stay evenly blended and homogeneous (things like vitamin E and peppermint oil don't naturally mix with water – an emollient is needed to make them mix).

Peppermint Oil: This is, of course, peppermint extract that you might find in a better cooking store. It is potent stuff, and a little goes a long way.

Sweet Almond Oil: An oil available at better supermarkets that is excellent for massage. In this product, it is likely used to help dissolve and disperse the peppermint oil and vitamin E in a carefully calibrated amount that is required for an effective tingle and smooth texture given the other ingredients in the gel.

Menthol: A simple, minty compound that is found in many different plants in nature, that can also be made very easily “from scratch” by a chemist. You wouldn't want the entirety of the tingle to be from menthol, as menthol can be harsh and drying to skin cells, but as an addendum to peppermint oil, it really provides an extra “peak” in the tingling intensity.

Citric Acid (Citrus Fruits): Citric acid, which is very easily processed from citrus fruits buffers the pH of the gel making it stay at exactly the right level for body friendliness. Additionally, control of the pH helps prevent growth of any nasties, so citric acid is a mild preservative.
Follow-up commentary
This is really fabulous stuff - not only does it feel nice on the clit, it works well when rubbed onto a G-spot, or the head of a penis. I would say its tingling effect lasts about 20 minutes or so, and it can be rinsed off with water to immediately decrease its intensity (but it won't stop it completely).
