We were impressed with the Iconic cock ring as soon as we saw the packaging. It comes in a small cardboard box, that brings to mind quality high-end cosmetics, and the manufacturer has printed not only the product information, but usage instructions and care info on it as well. That may not seem relevant, but it gives you the feeling that this is a responsible manufacturer, who cares as much about educating the consumer as selling toys. Equally as notable is the fact that they state the toy has already been cleaned, and is "ready to go", and they give a one year warranty on it as well.

Inside the box, the cock ring rests in a raised cutout inside, and you'll want to be sure to lift that up because there is a set of replacement batteries underneath; in addition to the set that's already in the toy. For those who are wondering, it takes two LR1130 watch batteries, but with two sets on hand you shouldn't have to worry about that for awhile.

The Iconic cock ring is made from a non-porous elastomer that is latex free and contains no phthalates. It is extremely soft and pliable, and we didn't notice any odor at all. The ring stretches from 7/8" to 2-1/4" girth, and is 1/2" wide. There are raised bands of elastomer on the inner side to provide strength, but they don't seem to affect how comfortable the toy is to wear.

The vibrating part measures 1" wide by 1-1/4" tall, and is actually an elastomer sleeve that houses the removable plastic vibrator drum, which you DO need to remove before cleaning the toy.

There is a tiny push button on the side of the vibrator that allows you to switch between “On” and a pressure-sensitive activation mode. The button is located in a manner that makes it easy to reach down during sex and change the setting, and it doesn't take a lot of pressure to activate. The vibrations are "medium" level, meaning they are strong enough to provide stimulation on any part of the body, but not so intense that they are numbing. If you prefer a very strong clitoral vibe then it likely won’t be enough to get you off though.

Cleaning the Iconic ring is a breeze. On one end of the sleeve, opposite of the soft nubs, there is a flat round plug that you pull out to get to the vibrator. It took us a minute to figure out how to get it out, since there isn't really anything to grab onto. The trick is to use a thumb, to gently pull the edge of the sleeve slightly away from the plug, while you remove it. Then you simply peel the sleeve away from the plastic drum, and it comes out easily. If you need to replace the batteries, there's a slot on the end of it that you can stick a coin in to unscrew the casing.

Once the vibrator is out, you can wash the ring with antibacterial soap and water, but be sure the inside of the sleeve is completely dry before you put the vibrator back inside. The difference between "waterproof" and "water resistant", is something you have to remember with this toy. It's water resistant and can be used in the shower. You cannot submerge it, because the elastomer plug simply does not create enough of a seal to fully protect the vibrator drum.

Re-assembling the toy was a bit difficult at first but, we figured out that if you make sure the push button side of the vibrator is in place first, it is actually quite easy to pull the other side of the elastomer sleeve over the rest.

We have only two complaints about the Iconic ring. The first is that there is no "off" setting for the vibrations. This means that while you are removing or replacing the vibrator in its sleeve, the toy buzzes every time you grip it the wrong way.

The other thing that we had an issue with, was that the cap that goes over the battery compartment seemed to loosen up a little bit with use; which turned the "low hum" volume of this toy up a couple of notches to that of an angry bee. Since the cap is firmly encased in the elastomer sleeve, this doesn’t affect sex play any, but if you’re trying to be really quiet for some reason then it might be a problem.

Alan says: The Iconic cock ring is officially my new favorite. I couldn't believe that something so smooth and pliable would actually provide enough pressure to do any good, but it did. It was incredibly comfortable to wear, and the vibrations felt great; and never did make me numb like some rings can.

Michele says: True to our natures we tried this ring in several different positions, and the only one we had any trouble getting the right sensation from was with missionary style. For that position, the vibrator barrel pressed more on the edge of the pubic bone that anything else, but the solution is simply to lift your legs a bit to get it down where it belongs.

One other use we found for this toy was hand jobs. Ladies, if you slide your middle two fingers through the ring so the vibrator rests in your palm, apply a little lube to the nubbies, and then grip your man's dick so those nubs press against the underside, it will be a handjob he'll never forget!

We've put quite a bit of mileage on this toy since we first got it, and it's still one of our favorites. The first set of batteries lasted well over a month, and the ring has retained its tightness all this time. The color has yellowed slightly, but there is no odor or change in texture, nor any other signs of wear. In other words, it's not a big enough issue to make us want to quit using it.
