The ring came in a foil, purple pouch with a clear side, much like the packaging you find a condom in. It wasn't difficult to open or pull out of the packaging, but turning it on was a bit of a struggle. My boyfriend messed with it for a good 30 seconds before it buzzed to life.

The ring itself is clear and made of TPR silicone (as with any silicone toy, you should only use natural or water based lubricants so as to avoid damage to the material) which is a material that tends to be sticky.
