Not worth it!

I would definitely not pay for this product, just for the sheer fact that I could by a nicer, more effective toy for close to the same price, and actually be able to use it more than once. It just doesn't live up to the hype.

Use

This toy is a vibrating cock ring that is slid over the penis, though I wouldn't consider it an actual cock ring since it doesn't have a lot of stretch around the base. It has a hard plastic ring inside of the latex that just slides over the penis, but does not fit snugly. It has an extension that is made to apply vibrations to the clit. The ring itself only fits around the base of the penis and will not stretch to fit over the balls, nor will it fit the finger snugly to use as a small hand-held clit vibrator. However, it could just simply be held to apply pressure and vibrations to the clit. It is waterproof, so can be used in the shower or tub (or pool!). Since it is a relatively small toy, you can easily carry it with you when traveling.

Material / Texture

The product didn't really have a smell, other than a slight latex aroma. It was smooth around the base, aside from the seam, but had slightly flexible grooves on the attached vibrating extension. The grooves were not really noticeable to me because they are small and thin. The "ring" portion is flexible, but feels hard during sex. The texture didn't add much to the experience at all,and I couldn't feel the vibrations because they are weak. The ring is made of latex, so please avoid if you are prone to latex allergies. There also seems to be a hard plastic inside of the latex around the ring that seems to give it its shape. The ring will slide on much easier with a lubricant, just make sure it's latex safe, such as a water based lubricant.

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

The design is very good in concept, though it isn't very practical. The base, for me, added a bit too much of an awkward thickness at the base of the penis that made it slightly hurt for me at first. The ring itself is relatively thick for a cock ring and very hard due to the plastic within the latex. The vibrating part meant for my clit didn't add the vibrations in the area best for me and as far as we could tell, it was not adjustable. The way the clit extension was positioned didn't put the vibrations in the right place for my liking. It didn't fit as snugly as we were expecting on his penis, so it did not prolong the erection at all. It definitely would not fit around the balls. For an average sized cock, it would slide on easily but not fit snugly. A man with a smaller than average girth would have difficulties with fit, but it will slightly stretch to accommodate a slightly larger penis. While it wasn't uncomfortable for my partner to wear, he didn't feel the vibrations, and it could have pulled at his pubic hair if he didn't keep it trimmed.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Connect does indeed vibrate, but really only strong enough for beginners. When the vibrating extension does actually end up on the clitoris, the vibrations are so minimal that it, for me, just felt like a piece of plastic. It would be best to try to position it directly onto the clit area before the thrusting begins. The vibrations didn't seem to carry through the harder material that it is made of very well because he couldn't feel any vibration whatsoever. On the plus side, the vibrations were very quiet, making it very discreet. The battery included only works for approximately 20 minutes, and you cannot replace it. It could be used as a small hand-held clit vibrator, and the light vibrations would be great for a beginner. It only has one vibrating intensity, and is turned on and off by the push of a button. While it wasn't uncomfortable for my partner, I didn't find it comfortable at all while we were having sex due to the hard plastic within the ring itself.

    • Easy to use
    • Not very stimulating

Care and Maintenance

There is no taking care of this toy for future use, since it seems to be a one time use toy. The battery only lasts for 20 minutes and cannot be replaced. If the 20 minute battery isn't used up during one session, you can turn it off, clean it, and save it for another use. At the price of 20 dollars for a practically disposable toy, it really isn't worth it. You can use latex-safe lubes with this product, if not, you run the risk of damaging the toy. You can easily and comfortably use a condom with this ring. I think it may even be sold with a condom in the packaging.

Personal comments

This isn't the greatest toy in the world, and I definitely wouldn't pay twenty dollars for it. There are many other fantastic vibrating cock rings out there that are actually cheaper than this one and much more economical. I suppose I just didn't "connect" with this product.

Experience

I was very excited to find out that this product was included in a promotional giveaway that I had received not long ago, and I couldn't wait to try it out. It looked like it would really do the job, but when I opened the package and felt how non flexible the toy really was, I honestly lost a little hope for it. We decided to try it anyway to see if it could live up to some other nice products on the Durex Play line. The entire time I was totally uncomfortable. The vibrating part meant for my clit was off the mark and, even if it were spot on, didn't vibrate strong enough for me to feel it. The "ring" part slid easily over the penis, but when things started heating up, the hard plastic "ring" became very uncomfortable for me, and actually hurt a little. I honestly wouldn't suggest this product to anyone.
Follow-up commentary
We gave the other Connect we received in the promo pack a chance, but we had the same uncomfortable, awkward experience as before.
